AJC Foundation Expands Scholarship Opportunities
2015 marks the 4th year of the Carrillo Family and now, the AJC Foundation, in providing high school seniors
scholarship opportunities to further their education. From 2011 to 2014, the Alia J. Carrillo Softball Scholarship
provided softball players within the Pueblo, Co with a $2,000 scholarship to assist with their higher education as well
as their continued participation in softball at the collegiate level. Within those three years, over $15,000 has been
awarded. Now in 2015, the AJC Foundation is expanding that opportunity to every senior high school student in the
Pueblo area. The class of 2015 was the first class for this scholarship to be offered. Twenty one seniors applied and
through the decisions of the Carrillo Family as well as the board of directors of the AJC Foundation, the four students
above were selected to receive the different scholarships that are offered. These four students bring the total of
scholarships awarded since 2011 to $19,500. With their academic ability, and drive to excel, these four students are
more than deserving of the opportunities that lay ahead of them.
