FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is there a shower?
No.
How do I gain access and exit during my stay?
During Park opening times (9am to 6pm) you can drive in through the main park entrance gate and exit through the
car park barrier as usual. You will be issued a code which will open the barrier for the duration of your stay. After
6pm you will need to enter and exit through this barrier using the code provided.
Are dogs allowed at the campsite?
Yes, your dog can come with you, but must be kept on a lead at all times and under control. Remember to pick up
after your dog! Please keep in mind not everybody is a dog lover.
Can I go into the other fields?
Yes you can but you should not enter fields with animals in them. In particular, stay away from cattle as they can be
extremely protective of their calves.
Can I have a fire / BBQ?
You are permitted to have a fire, as long as it is in the fire pit area. You must never leave the fire unattended, and
you must have a means of extinguishing it at hand (e.g. bucket of sand or water).
Is there somewhere to buy food on-site?
No, during summer we can supply fresh eggs but that is all at present.
Can I have fireworks or sky lanterns?
No, for health and safety reasons and the protection of our animals, we do not allow these.
Can under 18s stay at the site?
Under 18s must be supervised by an adult who is responsible for the group.
Can I feed the animals?
You may only give them the animal feed that is sold as part of the entrance to the Farm. Always wash your hands
after going near the animals and before eating and drinking.
Do you accept group bookings?
Groups should contact us in advance to notify us of the number of people in the party, and if necessary discuss
booking the exclusive use of a field.
Is there an electrical hook-up?
No, this is wild camping on a working farm, so none of our fields are supplied with electricity. You’re strongly advised
to bring a torch, as it can get very dark in the countryside at night.
Is wood provided?
No, please do not gather wood from the trees in the Avenues, the woodlands or cut down living trees as this has a
very negative impact on the wildlife.
Is there a toilet at the camp site?
No, it is located at the car park which is approx 5 mins walk away.
What is the maximum duration of stay?
Two weeks.
Can I bring a campervan / caravan?
Yes, we have a small hard standing area near the toilets – you must purchase a campervan ticket in order to use this
area and display it in the window of your vehicle.
Do you have a septic tank for disposal of waste?
No.
Do you have pot/clothes washing facilities?
No, you will need to heat your own water and wash up at your pitch.
Can I stay in the Avenues if I am pregnant?
This should be fine but please be aware that there is a farm on site and the NHS specifically warns against contact
with sheep during lambing season (the first half of the year). There are rare but dangerous complications that can be
caused by this contact, and even through contact with those who have been around lambing ewes. It is advisable to
check with your doctor before coming to stay at the farm if you are pregnant.
