Dear Parents, Carers, Staff, Governors and children,
We have had a great term 5 with lots packed in. This week has particularly intriguing
as we have embarked on a global learning week with each class studying various
aspects of fair trade, farming and market share. What I was really pleased with was
the more ‘local’ global issues that were covered too – such as being a good friend,
neighbour or helper. Messages of gratitude for what we have and how we live were
also paramount. My thanks must go to Mrs Johannesen for organising a super
launch to the week with Kwame from African Activities and to Joyce Hughes for
presenting to Elephants and Lemurs about fair-trade products. Year 3 and 4 also had
a visit from ‘Light in Africa’ to support their class work.
I hope you all have a happy and healthy half term break!

clashes with a Pre-School trip. The new date is Tuesday 23rd June same time as
before, 1.00-3.00 pm.
Residents’ Parking
A reminder again to respect our local residents when parking at drop-off and
collection time. Please do not block driveways or gates and ensure you have left
plenty of space for access. Our local residents should not have to worry about
whether they can get in or out of their property safely. Thank you for your support
with this.

Fireworks Event – Friday 6th November. Save the Date, More details to follow!!
If you are planning on having a clear-out over half-term, please remember that there
will be a second hand uniform stall at the fete. We are looking for donations of any
uniform including school and/ or clubs (e.g. Beavers). If you would like to bring it in
and give it to a committee member, we can store it until the fete.
If you find that you may have half an hour to spare either in the run-up to the fete or
on the day itself, please talk to Louise Compton (or any of the committee members)
as we have a central rota and would love to put some more names on there!!
Thank you!
