About the School
This prospectus is a very important tool in celebrating the
amazing activities that take place at Al Mizan and LEA. It is also
a vital tool in communicating with parents, carers and visitors
as well as providing information about the various policies,
practice and procedures in our school.
About the School
‘Al Mizan (Primary) and London East Academy (secondary)
schools aim to contribute towards the preparation of a new
generation of Hufaaz, Ulama and Duat for Europe & beyond,
who will fulfil their duties to the Creator and His creation as
responsible citizens. It also aims to provide a vigorous and
comprehensive academic curriculum that stimulates the full
potential of a student’s spiritual, intellectual, physical, social,
economic and cultural development.’
We are all extremely proud of our schools and committed to
providing the very best possible education for all of our students in an environment where children feel safe, happy and
are able to strive to reach their full true potential in life. Our
vision is one where we are able to equip all of our students with
the necessary tools to succeed in modern Britain as responsible tolerant individuals who have an in depth understanding
and appreciation for other cultures and faith groups.
We aim to educate, inspire and empower our students into
future Scholars and Orators of the Islamic faith who also equally contribute towards the local and wider community as leaders
and professionals in their respective field.
We take great pride in the fact that we are able to offer our students an exclusive balanced curriculum consisting of specialist
Islamic sciences as well as the British national curriculum.

The School’s ethos is intertwined in all dimensions of its activities and is based on context of time and place. The environment, displays of students’ work, manners of staff and students, teaching methods, and all of its activities reflect the
teachings of Islam. The staff and governing body endeavours
to maintain professionalism in their work. With available
resources, it is committed to provide quality education for its
students.
The Al Mizan and London East Academy are situated in one of
the largest and vibrant Islamic centres in Western Europe
hosting Muslims and non-Muslims from all over the world. The
school has capitalised on the premises, activities and the
resources of the London Muslim Centre to enrich the students and the teaching & learning environment. The centre
provides the students with a much valued identity and they
have come to appreciate the great part it plays in their lives.
The School is fully equipped with up to date resources and
apparatus necessary to teach all the subjects to a high standard. The purpose built classrooms are equipped with modern
technology that includes interactive white boards.
In addition to standard classroom facilities the school has a
purpose built science lab; fully equipped ICT suite and a library
with books and audiovisual materials. The London East Academy, the secondary provision is based on the second floor of
the LMC, whilst Al Mizan Primary, is just above the East London
Mosque. Its newly furnished classrooms have brand new facilities to provide good quality education.

We are committed to developing confident and ambitious young men who strive
to challenge themselves by taking advantage of our extensive educational offer,
which goes beyond the classroom. We provide our students with a comprehensive programme of enrichment exploring individual talents in sport, the arts and
travel. We offer extensive arabic language support and a range of creative activities from visits to art galleries, technology exhibitions and fun trips. Through our
local, national and global partnerships, we provide opportunities for all students
to take part in visits, trips and activities across the globe as well as inviting inspirational and motivational guest speakers and leaders from various fields to talk to
our students.
Our Curriculum
At Al Mizan Primary & London East Academy our curriculum offer is
traditional, challenging and dynamic and is enhanced by our specialism in
the Islamic Sciences. We seek to motivate and inspire students to achieve
their full academic potential to equip them for the world of work.
When a student completes the school’s full programme he should:
Memorise the whole Qur'an or a major part of it
Possess good command of both English and Arabic languages
Have acquired adequate number of GCSEs
Have good knowledge of Islamic Sciences to enable him to
progress onto specialising in Islamic Sciences at higher levels
Gain skills needed to appreciate and use Mathematics, Science
and emerging technologies
Develop profound academic skills and interactive skills to be
successful in today’s changing world
