Communications and Marketing Manager Job Description You’ll be the heart of the Academy and Campaign’s communications and marketing, drawing together our communications and marketing activities to create a clearly recognisable, consistent voice. This is a varied role and a key one in our small team, responsible for designing and implementing our communications and marketing strategy. You’ll be part of a growing organisation and the role has huge potential, with work ranging across (but not necessarily limited to): - marketing materials and publications press releases/media relations website updates letter and other external communications copy visual materials e.g. videos, photos social media (twitter, facebook, youtube) Campaign events larger-scale publication projects such as our Making the Case series and the Business of People You’ll be making it happen as part of our small, friendly team, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders of the Academy of Social Sciences and Campaign for Social Science. Person Specification Essential - outstanding project management & coordination skills passion for great communications and marketing excellent written and spoken English strategic thinker interest in social science self-starter IT literate strong attention to detail ability to attend frequent internal and external meetings in central London Desirable Experience of: - events management teams working remotely, or across multiple sites working in a not-for-profit or membership organisation the Higher Education sector Skills in two or more of the following areas: - video editing and production photography advanced Excel media relations social media web editing in WordPress CMS Working with the Academy and Campaign The Academy of Social Sciences is the National Academy of academics, learned societies and practitioners in the social sciences. Its Campaign for Social Science was founded by the Academy in 2011 to promote social science in public, press and parliament. The Campaign is still part of the Academy.
