OVERVIEW: Sky and Molson Coors are excited to launch UpLift

OVERVIEW:
Sky and Molson Coors are excited to launch UpLift Media, the new way to promote live sport, drinks and events in
pubs. Using cutting-edge technology, UpLift Media provides an industry-leading way for pubs to drive customer
footfall, customer loyalty and spend at no cost to them, while also receiving a monthly cash payment.
The initial rollout of UpLift Media starts in May, with 2000 screens launching into 1000 selected pubs to create
the largest network of digital advertising screens in the UK pub industry.
THE BENEFITS:
UpLift Media involves placing high-spec HD screens in pubs, which show third-party digital advertising. In return
for having the screens in their venue, landlords will benefit from:




Between £600 and £1,200 per year fixed monthly payment from Sky and Molson Coors
Advertising their own offers and events
Promoting upcoming live Sky Sports fixtures
Molson Coors advertising to help sell more of the products they stock
All of this will help to drive more footfall and cash in the till.
HOW IT WORKS:
No cost to the landlord:
Landlords can use the screens for free. The screens are placed behind the bar and one other high-footfall area.
Initially, UpLift Media will display up to 12 different screen rotations over a two-minute time slot – a mix of still
and animated content to bring products and brands to life.
Fixed payment of up to £1,200 per year:
The amount received is based on the size of the pub and whether they are a Sky and Molson Coors customer. The
goal is to continue this principle as the network is scaled beyond 2015.
Advertising their own offers and events:
Licensees can promote their own events and offers on the digital screens – an eye-catching way to help increase
customer loyalty and additional spend.
Promoting what’s important to the landlord:
They can choose which sports and fixtures to promote on the digital screens, or they can let Sky manage this
automatically. To choose what fixtures they want to show, landlords simply log onto Sky’s ‘My Sky Sports’ website
to access their profile. Using the weekly planner, they can add or remove the fixtures they want to advertise on the
digital screens and on their Sky Sports Pub Finder listing.
Around key games, fixture ads will help landlords drive excitement and anticipation by counting down the final
hour to kick off.
Pub customers can also be kept up to date with all the latest breaking news in the world of sport as part of a live
sports news feed on the screens.
Advertising brands relevant to each pub’s audience
Participating outlets will be regularly contacted to understand both their product range and customer
demographic. This helps ensure any brands or services displayed on the screens are relevant to the brands that
are stocked or the service that the pub audience should expect.
TECHNOLOGY:



It’s simple to set up. Once installed, the screen just connects to the internet and a power supply and it’s
ready to go
Sky and Molson Coors provide two 22” Samsung digital screens
The screens will automatically connect to the local WiFi, or Sky can provide 3G connectivity
