WEEK 2 24TH MARCH RESULTS Just two sides left with 100% records in division one. An early but expected top two sees champions Crompo’s three points clear after grinding out a 7-3 against Swan. Players A meanwhile had an identical score as last week; locked at 4-4, Carl Jackson cleared after being let in as did Lee Kendall from a half chance in their 6-4 victory against Dishers. Players B came from 2-0 down to win the next seven before losing the last at early leaders Linley. Radway went one better, coming from 2-0 down to win the last eight and leaving Cricketers demanding a dope test! They are level with Swan at the wrong end of the table and meet next week. Swan on song again in division two. Linley won at Lion 6-4 to move second. Oak got off the mark with an 8-ball in the opening frame from Liam Highfield, and a 6-4 win inflicted a first defeat upon Nuts N Bolt who were two divisions above them last season. Kings Arms won a close match at Thistleberry 6-4. Transformed Oak Nomads lead the way in division three. They defeated Red Street 6-4 in a tight encounter. Thistle also won 6-4 against new team Barrel who will be buoyed by their performance. Swan tasted victory, handing The Workies their first defeat in another 6-4. Broughton drew again but Labour rallied back from 2-4 for a share of the spoils and travel to Barrel in the basement encounter next week. Radway the early pace setters in division four. A hard fought 6-4 at Sandpiper who had also won their opener 8-2 has taken them four points clear. Butchers A drew again, with Labour B, their opponents moving second. Alsager Arms put aside their opening day defeat with a 7-3 against Butchers B. It was even better news for our other new team Clough Hall: their 8-2 loss last week was soon forgotten in the 8-2 at Queens.
