also perfect for exploring in a small group,
as we discover traveling the breadth of the

ITINERARY IN BRIEF
TOUR HIGHLIGHTS
Days 1-3: June 25-27, 2016
Depart U.S./Reykjavik/Borgarnes/
Snaefellsnes Peninsula
 Upon arrival in the Icelandic capital of Reykjavik, enjoy a scenic drive to our
hotel in Borgarnes. Explore the thermal areas of Deildartunguhver and the
Hraunfossar Falls. Visit the Reyholt Cultural Centre, a historic site based on
the life and residence of saga writer Snorri Sturluson. Tour the Snaefellsnes
peninsula. Walk along a shell sand beach, and explore caves with thousands of
nesting cliff birds.
Days 4-6: June 28-30, 2016
Akureyri/Lake Myvatn/
Jökulsárgljúfur National Park
 Travel to the fjords of Akureyri, Iceland’s northern capital. Stop and enjoy
scenic views at the Grasbrok Crater. Visit a Gauksmyri farm featuring famed
Icelandic horses. Discover Lake Myvatn and its environs of bubbling mud
flats, lava fields, and volcanic craters and Godafoss the “waterfall of the gods.”
Visit “Glacial River Canyon” National Park and see Dettifoss, Europe’s most
powerful waterfall. Embark on a bird-watching cruise to Puffin Island to see
the thousands of seabirds here.
Days 7-8: June 31-July 1, 2016
Reykjavik/Hella/Vik
 Transfer to the airport for a short flight to Reykjavik and then drive to
Thingvellir National Park, a place of great historic and geologic significance.
Stay in beautiful Hella, an agricultural area and the main regional center in
South Iceland. Tour the country museum in Skogar, followed by a brief walk
to the nearby Skogafoss, one of Iceland’s most popular waterfalls, and visit the
southernmost village of Vik.
Days 9-10: July 2-3, 2016
Reykjavik
 Return to Reykjavik via “saga” country, the setting of Iceland’s cherished
literary tradition. Enjoy lunch in the Icelandic capital at a local restaurant then
embark on a city tour. Enjoy time on one’s own to explore the city or join in
an optional visit to the Blue Lagoon for a soothing bath in the geothermal
waters. Celebrate this adventure over a farewell dinner.
Day 11: July 4, 2016
Reykjavik/Return to U.S.
 After a morning at leisure depart for the airport and early afternoon
return

PLEASE NOTE: At this time, elements of the tour are still being finalized. Your deposit will be
fully refundable until all details, including pricing, are complete. Our tour operator, Odysseys
Unlimited, will be in touch with you in October 2015 when the final tour details and tour brochure
is available. At that time, you will have 2 weeks to decide whether you would like to convert your
preliminary registration to a confirmed booking or to cancel and receive a full refund. Once
confirmed, the cancellation penalties as outlined in the brochure will apply. You will then receive a
confirmation packet plus information regarding the purchase of optional trip insurance and travel
protection.

$5,098 air & land inclusive from Boston, New York, Washington, DC. Please call for prices from other
cities. Prices are per person based on double occupancy and include airline taxes, fuel surcharges, and
departure fees of $403, which are subject to change until final payment is made. Land only price is $4,295;
arrival and departure transfers not included. Single travelers please add $1,095. Business Class upgrade on
international flight is available on a request basis – please call for details.
