WHO SHOULD ATTEND “OUT OF THE WOODS”?
Anyone who has been diagnosed with Lyme Disease or related ailments. If you
are concerned that you might have Lyme but are unsure, please contact us and
we will lead you through the testing process. You do not need to suffer this
alone.
WHO IS HOSTING THE RETREAT?

Amara means to remove obstacles and that is our goal, to remove the Lyme
related obstacles to your health. Lyme Disease brings a myriad of challenges to
the body. Dr. Edie Resto, DC, Katina Makris CH, CIH, and Alan Chang, L. Ac of
Amara Healing Center have gathered a team of practitioners to focus on you
and your individual case, incorporating a variety of modalities and their
comprehensive personal experience with Lyme Disease. We will create your
customized plan to assist the body in healing the disease and rebuilding your
natural balance in mind, body and spirit.
Amara Healing Center is located in Ojai California, USA. Ojai is a small town
nestled in the foothills of Central California. We invite you to visit and

Prior to arriving at the retreat, you will be required to complete the following:

From the information gathered in your interview, medical records and Bio
Meridian assessment, Dr. Edie will confer with Katina Makris and the
practitioner team to develop your customized plan.

WHY SHOULD I DETOXIFY?
We detoxify and cleanse for many reasons. The cleanse can affect your health,
vitality and rejuvenation on many different levels; physical, emotional and
spiritual. It will help to clear symptoms, treat the existing infections and prevent
further problems. When people have Lyme Disease, a detox cleanse is essential
in the journey of recovery.

You will co-create a menu and treatment plan with Dr. Edie specifically to
address your needs. The various modalities of treatments you will receive during
the retreat are specifically designed to compliment the Detox Cleanse and will
help the body to purge the toxins, restore the stability of the organs and
circulatory system. Our goal is to bring the body back into balance.
WHAT WOULD A TYPICAL DAY ON THE RETREAT LOOK LIKE?
The primary focus of the retreat is your healing. The relaxing environment, detox
cleanse, treatments and rest are combined to maximize your healing and
education during the retreat. The days will vary with diet and excursions, but a
typical day would follow this basic structure. Daily excursions will be optional
depending on how you feel.

WHERE IS THE RETREAT BEING HELD?
The Retreat will be held at a private residence in Brittany France. The small
town is called Plevenon and was built in the 1800s. The home is in the village
where our host Emmanuelle’s grandfather grew up. It sleeps 20, is surrounded
by green pastures and is 15 minutes from the beautiful Brittany coastline.

WHAT DOES THE RETREAT HOUSE LOOK LIKE?
The Retreat House is a quaint French country home surrounded by green fields
and a small village. It is peaceful and quiet. We have a fun Jacuzzi spa, yoga
movement room and quiet country roads to unwind your stresses. There is a
lovely stone fireplace, wide comfy couches and plenty of nooks and crannies for
everyone to find their own spot to hang out.
SIGHTSEEING AND EXCURSIONS
WHAT EXCURSIONS ARE AVAILABLE?
The following are available options included in the program. The team will
decide on which excursions to see dependent on the weather and the interest
and energy of the clients. You will be free to choose each day if you would like
to participate in the days’ planned excursion. All of these are within 30 minutes

visit on the first day on the way back from Paris on July 20th.

HOW MANY ATTENDEES WILL BE AT THE RETREAT?
The program is designed for personal and customized treatment plan and the
program is limited to 12 participants. There are 10 practitioners and staff to
support you.
WHAT ARE THE SLEEPING ACCOMMODATIONS?
There are a variety of accommodation options varying from dorm style (5
persons per room) to double occupancy and single private rooms (for an
additional cost). A detailed description of each room can be provided upon
request.
CAN A COUPLE ATTEND THE RETREAT TOGETHER AND SHARE A ROOM?
Yes. Couples or family members are welcome to attend together and share a
room if there is space available. We have limited space for Lyme afflicted clients
so priority will be given to clients suffering from Lyme. (For example: a spouse
coming to support a Lyme client will be kept on a waiting list until
June 20th).
Please contact Judy as soon as possible as the private rooms are limited. A
50% nonrefundable deposit must be received to reserve a room.

There are several options, depending on where you live and your travel plans.
1 By personal car -For those driving, once you register we will send you the
address and directions to the house.
2 By our Retreat van - If you are arriving into Paris by plane or train we can
arrange transportation for you. There will be an additional cost and it will
vary depending on how many clients want to share transportation ($100$150). We may be renting a van if there are enough who need rides.

3 By train – If you plan to arrive by train the closes train station is Saint Brieuc.
Please communicate with Judy to coordinate with other guest arrivals. We will
be happy to pick you up from the train. (Small additional cost)
ONCE I ARRIVE AT THE RETREAT SITE, WILL I NEED TRANSPORTATION?
No. We will provide transportation for all clients for our planned excursions in
Brittany. The town of Plevenon is also walking distance from the house if you
want to visit the church, the Boulangerie, the butcher, or the village souvenir
shop.
ARE THERE ANY ADDITIONAL COSTS?

Transportation to and from Brittany is the responsibility of each guest.
We will work with those who are not driving to the house to meet you at
the train station in Saint Brieuc or Paris. There will be a $150 (132 Euros)
round trip transportation fee per person to and from Paris.
Upgraded accommodations – There are 4 private rooms that can
accommodate one or two people. There is an additional $50 (44 Euros)
charge per night for double occupancy and $75 (66Euros) a night for
single occupancy. Please contact us for specific room requests and
details. First come first served basis.
Personal shopping or excursions beyond those listed in the program
Optional personal sessions with Dr. Edie Resto, Daisy Swan, or
Katina Makris.

WHAT IS THE PAYMENT PROCESS?
The cost of the retreat is $6,688.00 (6,000 Euros) per person.
A 50% nonrefundable deposit is required to hold your spot. Due to the
personalized nature of the program there are only 12 available guest spaces
available. Places will be held on a first come - first served basis.
The full balance of the payment is due by June 20th.
You can pay with a bank check, credit card, wire transfers or a combination of
these. For a wire transfer we need a bank confirmation of the outgoing
transaction. There is a $200 discount for bank check or wire payments.

Please note, there are only 12 spots open as this is a customized and very
personalized program. Your Skype interview with Dr. Edie and full payment must
be completed to guarantee your space.
