Strategic Goals
Create and maintain an organizational
structure which leverages expertise and
resources in the work of policy and
advocacy efforts of interest to the entire
Montessori community.
Identify public policy issues affecting
Montessori and develop coordinated action
steps in collaboration with Montessori
organizations, and the network of state
coalitions and their volunteers. Design and implement effective
communication systems that support
collaboration and coordination between
MPPI leadership, national Montessori
organizations, and state groups and
advocacy coalitions and their volunteers.
Grassroots Action at Work
State Groups and Advocacy Coalitions, some pre-existing
and some newly formed, provide the voice for individual
state needs.

Needs Assessment Next Steps
•
In November the MPPI undertook a Needs
Assessment of the initiative to identify “The Way
Forward”
•
We hired an external consultant to evaluate our
body of work, organizational structure, and to learn
from the state groups and coalitions and other
national associations
•
The process resulted in several next step strategies
the Council will consider to strengthen our
communication and direction.
