Global Brand & Communications Lead
POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a Global Brand & Communications Lead to join our global team and take
leadership in further strengthening our brand position and building out our communications efforts.
Our ideal candidate has a proven track record in articulating a business aligned brand strategy,
translating it into appropriate communication strategies for various channels and coordinating
effective execution. Applicants shall have experience with PR, multi-channel marketing, marketing
systems set up, content creation, collaboration with and oversight of external suppliers/contractors.
The ideal candidate will have experience in leading a communications team whilst remaining a selfstarter and being able to balance creative and project as well as budget management job aspects. This
position is open to applicants based in or with the appropriate working permits for the European Union
and preferably willing to relocate to Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

As part of this evolution, we are now looking for an all-star Brand and Communications Lead to join
our global team in a full-time capacity. This position will be responsible for all brand and
communications activity for the Impact Hub global team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who has extensive experience in international brand and
communications activities, understanding the challenges of a fast growing young brand, a rapidly
evolving value proposition, and diverse target audiences. The nature of the virtual team will require
keeping close connections with various stakeholders, all geographically dispersed.
It is also a direct way into the global Impact Hub organization at a time where the Impact Hub Network
is making bold steps towards its next level ambition, whilst celebrating the incredible growth and
success to date throughout our 10th year anniversary.

Work closely with senior leaders, communications teammates, and other departments to
propose and agree an effective Brand & Communications Strategy in support of our Impact
Ambition and Business Strategy
Evolve the brand value proposition and use analytics to propose effective brand messaging
and communications channels
Upgrade existing brand guidelines and oversee their execution across the global network
Communicate brand strategies and provide support to global team, local Impact Hubs,
internal partners and outside agencies to ensure full integration of initiatives
Oversee implementation and further build-out of internal brand, content and marketing
software (Percolate, see www.percolate.com)
Propose and oversee the execution of creative campaigns that pursue key business objectives
and make best use of various marketing tools
Manage development, production and distribution of promotional and collateral materials
Be the PR liaison for Impact Hub and take leadership establishing key media relationships
online & offline as well as drive content partnerships and co-branding opportunities
Lead the global communications team – including a Global Creative Campaigns Coordinator,
Communications support and various program Communication Coordinators as well as
oversee the existing marketing tools, systems and third party suppliers (agencies, creative,
designers etc.).

Are we a match?
• You have previously led brand and communications efforts within a fast growing setting –
including strategy development and execution coordination
• You understand the challenges and opportunities of a young, evolving brand and the
necessary strategies to further amplify its reach
• You have a firm grasp of all relevant communication channels, with direct or indirect
experience in digital and offline campaigns, copy editing, video production, analytics reporting
and graphic design
• You have experience and working knowledge of data driven metrics tools such as Google
Analytics, Crazy Egg, Facebook Insights, TweetStats, Mention, Klout, etc.
• You are a self starter, can lead a team and can coherently and convincingly articulate ideas in
front of various internal and external senior stakeholders
• You are passionate about and immersed into relevant topics, developments and conversations
in the field of social impact and innovation

You have a natural interest in working with entrepreneurs
You are fluent and proficient in spoken and written English and have an engaging writing skill
You have excellent user skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
You are comfortable communicating with several stakeholders and able to facilitate
collaboration and alignment within multidisciplinary and virtual teams
You are open-minded, self-reliant, and excited about being part of a diverse, fast-paced,
global start-up environment
You are able to demonstrate key components of the Impact Hub approach: entrepreneurship,
collaboration, innovation and exceptional execution ability
Preferably you have experience and working knowledge of graphic design programs, including
Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator as well as video production tools, including Final
Cut Pro

Role: full-time (40h/week); 25 days of holidays + public holidays as per country of residence;
Impact Hub membership provided
Location: Applicants based in or with the appropriate working permits for the European Union
and preferably willing to relocate to Berlin, Germany
Remuneration (independent contractor): range of 4,000 – 5,000 EUR monthly gross;
contractor; VAT registration required if in EU
Contract: Until December 31st 2016, 3 months trial period and further permanent employment
opportunities to be discussed as part of 6 months performance review. Preferred starting
date: 01 July to 15 August 2015.
Reporting to: Managing Director
Direct reports: various Programs Communication Coordinators, Communications Support.
