Cut off times The below cut off times are for all athletes across the race. Should an athlete be unable to reach one of these cut off times, they will no longer be able to continue racing. Race results will be classified as a Did Not Finish (DNF). Event Personnel will assist in transporting the athlete back to the event precinct via SAG WAGONS. The below information outlines each leg’s cut off policy in further detail. Swim – 2 hours 20 minutes from an athlete’s individual start time. The following intermediate cut off points will also apply to all athletes. Any swimmer unable to reach these cut-offs will be collected by event water safety and will be classified as a Did Not Finish (DNF). The time below represents the absolute cut off for all athletes regardless of individual time. • 7:00am – 0 km, Swim Start Car Park cleared (Athletes must be in the water) • 9:20am – 3.8 km, Swim Exit (Athletes must be standing on the boat ramp completely out of the water and pass a medical examination) Bike – 10 hours 30 minutes from an athlete’s individual start time. The following intermediate cut off points will apply to all athletes. Any cyclists unable to reach these cut-offs will be collected by the event sag wagons and will be classified as a Did Not Finish (DNF). The time below represents the absolute cut off for all athletes regardless of individual time. • 9:30am – 0 km, T1 Bike Exit (Athletes must be past the mount line and be riding) • 1:30pm – 90 km, 2nd lap turnaround (Athletes must have past the turnaround point and started the 2nd lap) • 1:58pm – 100 km, Golf Club Bike Aid Station 1 (outbound) • 2:44pm – 117 km, Bonny Hills Bike Aid Station 2 (outbound) • 3:15pm – 130 km, Dunbogan Bike Aid Station 3 (outbound) • 3:59pm – 146 km, North Haven Bike Aid Station 4 (inbound) • 4:37pm – 160 km, Lake Cathie Bike Aid Station 5 (inbound) • 5:04pm – 170 km, Matthew Flinders Bike Aid Station 6 (inbound) • 5:30pm– 180 km, Bike Entry Transition 2 (Athlete must have dismounted their bike and past the dismount line) Run – 17 hours from an athlete’s individual start time. All aid station will act as intermediate cut off points and will apply to all athletes. Any runner unable to reach these cut-offs will be collected by the event sag wagons and will be classified as a Did Not Finish (DNF). The time below represents the absolute cut off for all athletes regardless of individual time. 5:40pm – 0 km, Run Exit Transition 2 (Athletes must have passed the run exit arch and started the run course) 8:45pm – 20.5 km, Lap Band Collection Point (2nd Pass inbound) 10:17pm – 30.7 km, Lap Band Collection Point (3rd Pass inbound) 10:40pm – 33.3 km, Town Beach Run Aid Station 2 10:52pm – 34.6 km, Food for Less Car Park Run Aid Station 1 (outbound) 11:09pm – 36.5 km, Park St Run Aid Station 3 (outbound) 11:22pm – 37.9 km, Settlement Point Rd/Steven St Run Aid Station 4 (outbound) 11:38pm – 39.7 km, Park St Run Aid Station 3 (inbound) 11:49pm – 40.9 km, Lap Band Collection Point (4th and Final Pass inbound) 11:54pm – 41.5 km, Food for Less Car Park Run Aid Station 1 (inbound) 12:00am – 42.2 km – Finish Arch (athlete must have passed under the arch) In addition to the above cut off times, athletes may be cut off at any time based on the Race Directors discretion and judgement. Reasons for this may include, but are not limited to; medical, contingency, logistical and or race rule violations. In the situation of one or more legs (swim, bike, run) being modified under contingency scenario’s the Race Director also reserves the right to announce new cut off times. Please also note, the above cut off times are approximate and based off the time that the last athlete is expected to start the race. Should the last athlete start the race earlier or later than the above, the Race Director reserves the right to adjust the cut off times.
