G crochet hook
Worsted weight yarn in 2 colors – 1 for cone & 1 for ice cream scoop
– We used Red Heart Super Saver (Buff for cone, White for ice cream
scoop)
36 multi color pony beads
2 or more beads for embellishing & securing drawstring
17” of ribbon that matches ice cream scoop color (3/16” width or 5 mm ribbon)
Yarn or tapestry needle
Safety pin or stitch marker
Stitches Used:
Ch = chain
St = stitch
Sts = stitches
Sl st = slip stitch
FO = fasten off
Sc = single crochet
Hdc = half double crochet
BSC = beaded single crochet
Stitch Explanations:
BSC – Beaded Single Crochet: Pull bead up close to work. Keeping the bead in
front of your work, insert hook in the stitch behind the bead and pull up a loop.
YO (yarn over) and pull through both loops on your hook. The bead should now
be on the top of the stitch and front side of purse.
Gauge:
We did not use a gauge for this pattern.
Special Notes Before Beginning:
•
This pattern is worked in a continuous spiral stitch. Mark the last stitch of
the round with a safety pin or stitch marker.
•
We also suggest that you keep an extra safety pin handy to attach to the
working stitch when you need to put your project down. This will secure and
hold the stitch in place until you work on your project again.
•
Finished size is approximately 19 ½” in total length. The ice cream cone is 3” in
diameter when opened x 4” in height. Note: the total length is adjustable. 2

WHITE RUFFLE OR ICE CREAM SCOOP RUFFLE
1.
Holding ice cream cone upside down, attach white yarn to a front loop of
Round 12. We suggest starting at the back of the ice cream cone.
2.
With your G hook, work the following sts in the FRONT loops: *3 hdc in
next sc, skip next sc, sl st in next sc*, repeat from * to * around.
3.
Sl st to next st to close round.
4.
FO and weave in tails.

Ice Cream Cone Necklace Purse
DRAWSTRING
1.
Cut a 17” piece of ribbon.
2.
With yarn needle, weave ribbon through Round 18, starting at the middle
of the front side of ice cream.
3.
Pull ice cream scoop all the way open. Add desired beads to the ribbon
that will help to pull the purse closed. Knot several times to secure beads
in place and cut tails. Optional: you can add a dab of craft glue or Fray
Check to the ends of the cut ribbon tails to keep ribbon from fraying.
NECKLACE
1.
Using your G crochet hook, and leaving a length of tail for weaving, attach
white yarn (ice cream scoop color) to a stitch on one side of the ice cream
scoop.
2.
*Ch 12, pull down 2 beads*, repeat from * to * 11 times more. End with 12
chains. (24 beads, 156 total chains or 13 ch-12 groups)
3.
Using 1 sc, attach the other (loose) end of the necklace to the opposite
side of the ice cream scoop, making sure it lines up with the already
secured side of necklace.
4.
FO and weave in all tails.
Necklace Adjustment Option #1:
You can make the necklace any length you want by simply adding or subtracting the
number of chains. You might also need to adjust the number of chains in between
the beads. In addition, you might use less beads or require more beads. It all
depends on the length of your necklace! ☺
Necklace Adjustment Option #2:
Simply make the pattern as is and tie a knot in the back of the necklace to adjust
the length!
