This lariat is made of
vintage matte peanut
beads and mother of
pearl shell edges. The
two ended cone covers
the connections in the
center of the back. I
have hidden two small
bronze bells in the end
of the lariat that make a
subtle sound. This lariat
is short so it works the
same way a scarf might
when worn.
This necklace Is custom
mix of megatamas. I
save the beads left over
from projects and
sometimes mix them
together. I used the
large Trumpet Flower
cones that go well with
the Pumpkin Flower
Magnetic clasp to finish
this piece. I know that
some make sure that the
megatamas go all the
same way to create a
dragon scale look. I sort
of like it all ruffled.
This necklace appeared
in Karen DeSousa’s
book Braiding with
Beads. Mother of Pearl
beads of all colors make
up this necklace. I used
the bronze Bell Flower
Cones and the Chartres
Spiral Clasp closure with
the removable Gingko
Leaf clip is a finishing
touch. I love the
vibrancy of color in this
necklace and many
others do as well which
is good.
Karen DeSousa included
this necklace in her
second Braiding with
Beads book. Onyx disks
are used in this necklace
and she used the white
bronze Trumpet Flower
cones and the Red Rose
Magnetic clasp to finish
the piece off. It is very
dramatic.
A variegated fiber cord
and a double ended
cone are used to
showcase a gorgeous
lampwork bead. I am
sorry I cannot
remember who made it,
but I love their work. A
Small Leaf Clasp and
the Small and Double
Star Cone with loop
finish the piece.
Another version of the
multicolored Mother of
Pearl necklace using the
Sunflower Magnetic
clasp and the Bell Flower
Cones.

Bob Burkett’s shibuichi
flask with screw top lid
is highlighted in this
fiber based kumihimo
necklace with copper
beads. The Large Star
Cones end the necklace
with crystals. The
necklace is made to be
worn with a simple knot
closing it.
Using soft rayon ribbon
to create this necklace
that focuses on a vintage
German crystal bead. I
even made the bail out
of kumihimo to protect
the bead from the
hazards of chipping.
Traditional glue in cones
and the Grid Clasp were
used. This necklace was
made before I started
making cones of my
own.
This wonderful piece of
amber was wire
wrapped with half
round gold fill wire. I
used the small Chartres
Spiral as a clasp and the
Twigs Cones to
terminate the
variegated fiber
kumihimo.
Fancy Agate Spiral is a
necklace that uses two
sizes of beads to create
a wonderful twist
pattern. I used the Large
Brocade Clasp and the
Large Bell Flower cones
to finish the piece. A
version of this is in
Karen DeSousa’s last
book.
This lariat uses a mix of
lustre 3.4mm beads and
mother of pearl chips
combined with chain
and a double ended
cone to finish the ends.
The final piece also had
two cream colored
moonstone lentils at the
end. (not shown in this
picture) I love mixing it
up.
This lariat uses the same
lustre beads combined
with larger golden
beads, large hole agate
beads and carved bone
tablets at the end. I
never know what I will
find in my studio to add
to a design.

This sleek bracelet uses
the small leaf cones and
double cone to accent
the hex beads. The
small Sea Urchin Clasp
securely fastens it.
This simple beaded
bracelet uses the Small
Leaf Cones and Swirl
Clasp to kick it up a
notch
Yes, I do like mother of
pearl – this is the new V
magnetic clasp.
Believe it or not this is
also mother of pearl in a
wonderful variegated
turquoise color with the
new V clasp.
