The finished quilt is quite colorful and interesting and perfect for a novice. You don’t have to be an accomplished quilter to make this one. All straight-line sewing, and no points to worry about. A supply list will be available at the store. This is a two-part class being held in the evenings to accommodate those who work during the day. Dates: Thursday, June 11th and June 18th 6:00pm - 8:00pm Cost: $40.00 Instructor: Cheri Decorative Stitches Baby Quilt So, you have this sewing machine - and it has a LOT of pretty, fancy stitches. BUT, you have no idea what to do with them? In this class, you will learn how to “stack” those stitches to create beautiful blocks. These blocks can then be used to create a lovely baby quilt or wall hanging. An heirloom quality quilt that will be handed down and treasured for years. It will make a perfect baby shower gift. Embroidery Club Embroidery Cutwork Lace Edged Napkin Embroider a cutwork bookmark while learning how to personalize it using the features on your embroidery machine. Embroider a lace edged napkin while learning perfect placement. Smocking Beginning Smocking If you don’t already know how to smock or just need a refresher course, this is the class for you. Not only will you learn this amazing needle art, but you will be smocking a girl’s summer top that ties on the shoulders. In the first class you will learn the basic smocking stitches and in the second class you will learn to center a smocking pattern while completing a little girl’s top. Get a head start on that special Christmas outfit for your little one while learning how to stack cables for the perfect picture every time you smock. Students must be comfortable with basic smocking stitches to take this class. Dates: Thursday, July 16th and July 23rd 10:00am -12:30pm Cost: $30.00 Kit Fee: $15.00 Instructor: Linda Dream it, Create It – Silhouettes If you can dream it, you can create it. This presentation will show simple steps to create your own silhouette design by using both manual and auto tools in your embroidery digitizing software. Explore silhouette designs and decorative fill stitches. Learn valuable tips in creating and selecting perfect shadow images. Photography, lighting and paper will be discussed. Silhouette designs make beautiful wedding gift projects, gorgeous family quilts, fun designs for garments and home décor. The stitches you apply in silhouette creation will provide a foundation for the skills needed for other techniques including freestanding lace. Bonus: Practice materials, include the design, and template. A digital cutter demo will follow after the class for those that would like to see one in use. Registration opens April 24, 2015. Learn the parts of your sewing machine, common sewing terms, how to thread your machine, wind the bobbin, and more. You will leave knowing how to troubleshoot most common sewing machine problems and how to operate your machine for basic sewing. Please label all your equipment with your name so it can be returned if left behind. Dates: Monday, June 8th or July 13th Cost: $35.00 6:00pm - 8:00 pm Instructor: Kathy Sewing Basics Prerequisite: Machine Basics or can independently thread, wind a bobbin, and operate your sewing machine. This is a hands-on class is for the new sewer or someone needing a refresher course. Leave class with samples demonstrating your knowledge of how to sew different seams and different seam finishes, pin fabric, and press fabric correctly. Machine operation, thread, stabilizers, basic hooping, fabric selection, needles, loading a design, and more are covered in this basic embroidery class. You must bring your embroidery machine with embroidery unit, hoops, all cords, instruction manual, one empty bobbin, machine accessories, and basic sewing notions/ supplies. Create a cute and fun monogrammed appliqué using just the designs and fonts on your machine. You must bring your embroidery machine with embroidery unit, hoops (4x4 or 5x7), all cords, instruction manual, one empty bobbin, machine accessories, and basic sewing notions/ supplies. You will learn how to layout a pattern on your fabric, make an elastic casing with drawstring combination, make machine buttonholes, and finish your Capris with a professional look! While we strive to keep the turn time at a minimum, it will vary depending on the number of machines received. If you need your machine repaired sooner than the current turn time, we do offer a “same day service” at an additional cost. The only time a charge is higher than the flat rate service fee, is if your machine needs parts. We will call you when your machine needs more than $15.00 in parts.
