Growing in Unity
In the
Body of Christ.
Dear Parents,
It was such a special weekend for our second graders as they received the Sacrament of First
Holy Communion. The anticipation and excitement in their eyes reminded me very much of a Christmas
morning. We often say at Christmas time that we wish the spirit of Christmas would last the whole year
through. It struck me as I was watching the students receive Communion for the first time, that I wish
they could have that same feeling each and every time they receive the Eucharist. They reminded me
how fortunate we all are to be a part of such a wonderful Catholic Community and that together we can
carry on our Mission and truly Learn… Love… and Live… Christ. Congratulations second graders and as
Father Andy said, “Welcome to the big table.”
Believe it or not, but we only have five weeks of school left. It is so important to keep focused
and finish the school year strong. All the policies and procedures that applied at the beginning of the
year are still in place at the end of the year. Please help us keep the students on task by getting them to
school on time and making sure homework is completed. Let’s make it to the finish line together!

Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures
Every day we are seeing an increase of parents dropping their children off on Third Street in the
morning and picking them up on Third Street in the afternoon. When you do that, you are creating an
unsafe situation. The traffic is very heavy in the morning and the thought of a child being struck by a car
is frightening. Also, at the end of the day, by picking your child up on Third Street, you are slowing down
the process for dismissal for those who are following the rules. Again, we only have five weeks left of
school. Your cooperation in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
There is NO P.T.O. Meeting on Thursday, April 23rd.

St. Dominic Math Festival
On Tuesday, April 14, 27 of our middle school students participated in the St. Dominic High
School Math Festival. Students compete in an individual contest and a triples team contest (on
6th, 7th, and 8th grader). After more than 2 hours of thinking, figuring, and collaboration, ribbons
were awarded. We are so proud of our students---96% received ribbons!
While all of our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students performed exceptionally well, our 8th grade
students stole the show! The highest scoring students are invited to the Elimination Round
where they compete in front of spectators. Assumption 8th graders Zoe Martin, Connor Hood,
Luke Larabee, Ally Renaud, Joey Gloriod, Evan Engel, and Brennan Kiger were invited to
participate due to their high scores. Zoe Martin and Ally Renaud finished in the TOP 5 of the
Elimination Round! WOW!!!
In addition, 8th graders Zoe Martin, Connor Hood, Luke Larabee, Evan Engel, and Brennan
Kiger received the highest ribbon—Excellent—for their tremendous scores on the Individual
