Do we have stories for you???!!!
From Nancy Baumberger: In 1950 at LAX Nancy B. had decided to end her career with
AA. She was dating a pilot at the time (whose name shall remain anonymous), and he
came up with the idea to have a funeral service for her final day with American. He
met her last flight with an entourage of flight crew members and other employees of
AA. The entire group went in formation to the end of the runway (back then there
were no security issues!) and held a funeral service for Nancy’s wings.
In 2015 Chris Moeckel heard Nancy saying that her wings were buried at LAX, so
Chris was able to procure a set of those exact wings and presented them to Nancy at a
Kiwi meeting which Chris was hosting at her house. What a blast!!
Note the wings that Nancy has on!
What is your favorite memory from “The Good Old Days”??
Send it in an email to [email protected] to share with your
Kiwi Sisters!
