Law Ball Instagram Competition
Terms & Conditions
Prizes, Entry and Selection
1. Three (3) prizes will be awarded.
2. A prize will be awarded to the winning entrant who posts a photograph on Instagram of his or her
preparations and experiences of the AULSS Law Ball 2015 in accordance with the Prize Categories
3. The three prizes for the top entrant in the competition will be divided into the following categories of
photographs (Prize Categories):
a. Prior to the event.
Examples include but are not limited to: shopping for a Dinner dress or suit; getting dressed
up before the event; or travelling to the event with friends.
b. During the event
Examples include but are not limited to: photos taken with the band and/or entertainers, with
friends at the venue, at the entry or inside the venue, photo booth .
c. The day after the event
Examples include but are not limited to: hotel room pictures, wake up shots, memorabilia
such as photo stubs taken on the night.
4. Competition for these prize opens immediately after the Instagram competition is announced on the
AULSS Facebook page. Each of the prize categories will open and close at the following times:
a. Prior to the event: from the announcement and publication of the competition until 7.30pm
June 6th
b.
During the event: from 7.30pm June 6th until 12.00am June 7th
c. The day after the event: from 12.00am June 7th until 7.30pm June 7th
5. Entrants must use the following hashtag when they post their entries:
a. #AULSSLawBall15
6. Entrants must tag the AULSS Instagram page ‘aulsstagram’. Only photographs that include BOTH
the hashtag and instagram tag will be eligible to win a prize.
7. The prize shall be an AULSS voucher in the amount of $20, provided by the AULSS to be used to
fund any AULSS event.
a. The voucher will not be replaced or honoured by the AULSS in the event that it is lost or
stolen.
8. The winner will be randomly selected from the photographs in the running at the cut-off time and
date.
a. If the randomly-selected photograph was posted by someone not in attendance at the event, a
different photograph will be selected.
b. If the randomly-selected photograph violates any of Instagram’s Terms of Use, a different
photograph will be selected.
i. This process will continue until a winner who is in attendance is selected.
9. The winners will be announced in the week after Law Ball via Facebook and the AULSS Facebook
and/or Instagram Page.
10. Entrants may enter the competition as many times as they wish by posting several Instagram
photographs using the relevant hashtag. All photographs that meet the criteria will be in the running
for the prize.
Appropriateness of Photographs
1. Please carefully read and follow Instagram’s Terms of Use.
a. Photographs containing nudity, violence, discrimination or unlawful acts will be reported to
Instagram and/or the South Australian Police if necessary.
2. AULSS advocates responsible drinking. Any photographs depicting excessive, unlawful or unsafe
consumption of alcohol are not endorsed by the AULSS and the University of Adelaide.
Sharing of Photographs
1. By using the #AULSSLawBall15 hashtag, you grant permission to AULSS to reproduce the relevant
photograph by sharing it through the AULSS Facebook and/or Instagram pages.
2. Merely sharing an entrant’s photograph on AULSS social media does not constitute the
announcement of a winner.
a. Entrants whose photographs are reproduced by AULSS have an equal chance of winning a
prize as all other entrants who have complied with the Terms and Conditions detailed herein.
