Trends for 2013/14 My Silk Road After another annual visit to Belgium, where I attended one of the world’s largest textile trade shows, I've come back refreshed and ready to create seasons to come. The hottest trends from Europe are all about the look, feel, and color of today’s modern classic decor. Watch for these trends through 2013/14. Get the Look Foundations of soft, natural fibers are brought to life with intense, saturated color and subtle hints of glamorous sheen. Casual, understated luxe looks exude natural elegance and effortless style. Re-inspired Textures Linen is still the most desired textile worldwide, but watch for it to evolve with the addition of subtle surface sheen using special finishes or accents of faint shiny or metallic yarns. This new linen look provides depth and dimension to otherwise matte natural linen finishes. Velvet is reemerging onto the stage looking fresh in shorter, finer piles and brighter, more saturated colors.
