Prof. Neil O’Hare Director of Informatics, St. James’s Hospital, Dublin Company founder, Brenda Dooley has over 15 years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry where she held a number of senior leadership roles in a number of areas including training, business development, marketing, payer relations and market access. Brenda was formerly a Director of Market Access and Payer Relations at Pfizer Healthcare Ireland. Brenda is a member of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) and a member of the ISPOR Medical Devices and Diagnostics Special Interest Group. Brenda has an MSc. (Hons) in Health Economics from NUI Galway where she was awarded a distinction for her Masters thesis which examined the role of HTA agencies in Budgetary Risk Management in Ireland and the UK. Prof. Neil O’Hare is currently Director of Informatics in St. James’s Hospital, Dublin. This is the largest acute academic hospital in Ireland and as Director of Informatics Neil has corporate responsibility for ICT, Medical Physics, Clinical Engineering and Medical Photography. Until recently Neil was Programme Lead for National Integrated Medical Imaging System (NIMIS) Project for the Health Service Executive (Ireland). This is currently the largest Healthcare IT project in Ireland with its aim being to implement a national integrated PACS/RIS solution into all hospitals that currently do not have such and to integrate existing systems to facilitate a national diagnostic image solution. Prof. O’Hare holds academic appointments in Medical Physics in both DCU and TCD. He has research interests in the areas of Medical Imaging, Informatics and Non-Ionising Radiation Protection. He has over 50 peer reviewed publications. 2. Dr Colman Casey, HIH Director Health Innovation Hub & University College Cork 3. 4. B.Sc., UCC, 1978, Ph.D. in Microbiology (UCC) 1983. In addition to his position of Director in the Health Innovation Hub, Colman is also the administrative director for research and industrial liaison of the College of Medicine and Health and the interim director of the Cork Science and Innovation Park in UCC. He was formerly the president and founder member of PDA Ireland. Colman served on the boards of Avecia, ISPE, American Chamber of Commerce, National Food Biotechnology Centre and Cork University Foundation and was granted a Distinguished Alumnus Award by University College Cork in 2003. 3. Prof. Deirdre McNamara MD FRCP(Edin) FRCPI, Associate Professor Gastroenterology & Director TAGG Research Centre, Trinity College Dublin 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. Prof. Deirdre McNamara is a gastroenterologist based at the Adelaide and Meath Hospital , and Trinity College Dublin. She graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 1993, and obtained her membership of the Royal College of Physicians, Ireland , in 1997. Her CCST in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine, and MD, were awarded in 2002. She is currently the project leader for the Cancer Prevention Institute based at the Adelaide and Meath Hospital and National Children’s Hospital, Dublin. 7. Dr Anne Blackwood Chief Executive, Health Enterprise East Dr Anne Blackwood is Chief Executive of a leading NHS Innovation Hub in the UK, Health Enterprise East. With overall responsibility for the management and performance of the company, Anne’s in-depth knowledge of the NHS and its evolving innovation landscape make her ideally placed to lead the Health Enterprise East team. Anne is also a Director of the Health Innovations Alliance, the nationwide partnership of NHS Innovation Hubs. Anne has also been involved in the planning and delivery of SBRI competitions within the UK health service for over 6 years. SBRI is a pre-commercial procurement programme that works with the health service to identify unmet needs and then offers those needs in the form of challenges for industry to solve. Anne has been actively involved in knowledge transfer and intellectual property management in the life sciences for over 12 years. She joined Health Enterprise East in 2005 from Cambridge Enterprise, the technology transfer office of the University of Cambridge. Anne holds a PhD in chemistry from Strathclyde University. 8. Dr Paul Davis Strategy Procurement and Supply Chain Management DCU Business School Maureen Cronin is a graduate of University College Dublin and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Certified Accountants (FCCA). She worked as Head of HSE Corporate Reporting & Budgeting for 13 years before taking up a new role this year as Head of the Healthcare Pricing Office and Executive Lead for ‘Money Follows the Patient’. She has extensive experience of health-service financing and is leading the 2015 conversion from hospital block budgets to activity-based funding. Dr Davis is currently involved in helping to develop the procurement profession in Ireland, through education, professional development and training. He is actively involved in a number of research projects, topics including public private partnerships, innovation in public procurement, impact of technology on procurement process. He is Chair of the MSc in Strategic Procurement and Chair and a Director of the Global Standard in Purchasing and Supply Management Education. Last year he co-chaired with Professor Khi Thai the International Public Procurement Conference in August 2014 in Dublin, attracting over 260 public procurement professionals and academics from over 60 countries. 5. Mr. Costa is the Chairman of the Portuguese Medical Devices Industry Assoc. (APORMED) Legal & Regulatory Working Group and is also an active member of Eucomed’s Public Procurement Working Group. In 2012 Mr. Costa worked for Medtronic Canada mainly on Government procurement matters. Mr. Costa holds a Degree in Law and a Master’s Degree in Health Care Management as well as a Post-graduation in Public Procurement Law and Competition Law.
