Since 1980, Baker Industries has provided work for the hard-to-employ in our community, due in large part to the generous support of individual donors, as well as gifts from businesses and corporations who believe in our mission. We are very pleased that Tracy Davidson, the Emmy award-winning anchor for NBC10 News, will be presenting the Steps to Independence award at the Gala to our partners at the Jefferson School of Health Professions, Department of Occupational Therapy. Two OT Master’s Degree candidates are onsite at Baker from September through June, and engage our workers in a variety of individual and group interventions focused on making good choices, stress management, health and wellness, goal-setting, and more. The addition of OT to our program further supports our participants as they strive to live a balanced and self-sufficient life. Financial support is extremely important to Baker Industries, as we do not accept any government money. We rely on donations and the added support of our friends in the business community who supply us with exciting auction items. Would you be willing to donate either a gift certificate or merchandise to our silent auction this year? It is truly a win/win - we benefit from your donation and you receive the goodwill which comes as a result of your generosity. In our 34 years of operation, more than 10,000 adults in need have come through our program, many without any available resources, as part of rebuilding their lives. Thank you for considering our request to support our mission in the year to come.
