Arrive at the Festival Early for a Special
Greeting from the USC Marching Band
Park your car near the Stramler Park
entrance, trade your ticket for a wristband, and prepare to be greeted at the
gate by the festival's first scheduled
musical act, University of Southern
California's Spirit of Troy Marching
Band with Traveller the Horse. The
Spirit of Troy is the only collegiate
band to have two platinum records.
The group has performed with numerous celebrities including John Williams, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross,
Doc Severinsen, George Clinton, Fleetwood Mac, The Three Tenors, John
Dolmayan, Shavo Odadjian, The
Offspring and Radiohead. In addition,
the band has performed for five U.S.
Presidents, at the Summer Olympics,
and on the Academy Awards, Grammy
Awards, and the season 7 finale of
American Idol.
The band has
appeared in dozens of feature films. You'll love the raw energy of this musical institution.
Check-in at the Information Booth to
Learn About the Festival Grounds, the
Conference App, and Special Events
Grab a map of the festival grounds, so that you can find your way around the
gorgeous, patriotic wonderland that flows across parkland and through Kern
County Museum's Pioneer Village. If you misplace the map that you receive at
the gate when you enter, you should feel free to head to the information booth
for another copy or answers to your questions.
CELL PHONE IMAGE
The information booth is also a place for us to talk about how we can help with
assisted listening devices or other accommodations to help make the festival
a truly exceptional experience for everyone.
If you are carrying a smartphone, you should feel free to download the festival
app for up-to-the-minute festival news and information on games, prizes, and
any schedule changes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What should I wear to the festival?
A: You should wear clothes that are comfortable for a fun, outdoor event that may make you tempted to
dance from time to time. We have contests for attendees who wear the most patriotic clothes and/or the
most impressive country-western wear. The long range weather prediction has the high temperature for
festival day at a comfortable 81 degrees, but you should consider that the event is a spring day in Bakersfield.
Q: Where do I park? How much does parking cost?
A: Parking is free. You'll simply pull into the Stramler Park area from Chester Avenue. Parking attendants
will be available on hand to help guide you.
Q: What about bathrooms?
A: In addition to the facilities already available on the festival grounds, the festival is bringing in additional
premium restrooms that will be centrally located.
Q: I purchased access to the Golden Circle area at one of the festival's national stages. When can I let you
know which stage I've chosen?
A: You let us know as you enter the festival. You'll trade your ticket for a wristband, which will indicate the
stage selection. Thank you for supporting the festival. Golden Circle tickets have now sold out.
Q: Is the festival family-friendly?
A: Yes. Children under six are admitted free of charge. We think children will enjoy the rides, games, and
delicious food just as much as attendees who are only young at heart.
Q: Is the festival patriotic?
A. Very much so. It was a tradition for many to wear red, white, and blue to the Bakersfield Business Conference, and the festival is very happy to inherit that love of country. The grounds will be decorated with patriotic fervor and the show will conclude with a patriotic fireworks spectacular.
Q: Can I pay more for seating?
A: No. There is seating for everyone available at all of our national stages. It's important that everyone have
a comfortable seat and enjoy the benefits of cutting-edge sound.
Q: What if someone trips or is injured in some way?
A: Emergency and first aid services are available throughout the festival. A physician and nurse will be on
duty all day. Hall Ambulance is ready in case of an emergency, as well.

Sports Fans and Festival Athletes Have
a Home of Their Own at the Festival
Grab a beer and watch the game with friends or stop by for big
screen updates on the score. Surrounding the sports tent will be
an entire village with games that challenge attendees at golf,
volleyball, football, baseball, basketball, hockey, and soccer. Or, if
you’ve got what it takes, ride the mechanical bull.
The sports village is the next evolution of the Sports Tent, an audience favorite from the Bakersfield Business Conference. Countless friendships, alliances, and business partnerships were built on
a foundation of sports talk under the sports tent at the Bakersfield
Business Conference and festival organizers expect that the
Sports Village will be a favorite among festival attendees as well.
Relax and Enjoy Some Quiet Time at the Quiet Deal
The festival is a perfect escape for music lovers, and the Quiet Deal is the perfect
escape from it all. The Quiet Deal is a place for people to relax and even nap.
At the Quiet Deal, you'll find tables, chairs, and cots for lounging. We supply pillows
and sheets and change each between use. If you find yourself craving a little time
for quiet talk or a little daydreaming, this is the festival venue for you.
Enjoy a Drink with Friends at the Beer and Wine Garden
You'll find multiple serving stations to help you cool off with a cold beer or wine in the festival's
beer and wine garden.
This venue has been designed to give people an opportunity to enjoy an alcoholic beverage
and meet and talk before returning to enjoy more music at one of the festival's stages.
Take in Something Different with Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream
The "Something Different" stage is one of the festival's seven stages. Inside a gazebo on
a stage, you'll find a lineup of novelty acts including one of the best dueling pianos acts
we've ever seen, Banshee in the Kitchen, Richard Gonzalez, Deedra Patrick, and the
amazing Amber Appleton. The stage will also feature a Peter, Paul and Mary tribute band
for some easy, contemplative sounds.
This musical treat is made all the sweeter by the inclusion of an ice cream pavillion.

Fall in Love with the Festival’s Classic Car Show
Take a break from the best of iconic American classic rock and country to stroll through the
festival classic car and motorcycle show.
These dream engines will be traveling in from all over California to make you remember what
it means to be young. If you love cars or you love what classic cars represent, we bet you
won't be able to resist the festival car show.
Don’t forget to cast your vote for “Best in Show!”
Take a Stroll Through the Art and Crafts Exhibits
There's no need to travel to Santa Fe or Laguna Beach to take a romantic stroll among the
galleries, we'll be bringing the talent to you.
You'll have an opportunity to check out exhibits from some of the best local and regional artists,
talk with the artists about their methods, choices, and inspirations, and make new discoveries.
Many of the festival exhibitors will be offering some of their best work for sale. We hope that
some festival art will end up in homes and offices and remind people of the time they shared
at the festival.
Dance and Win Prizes at Diane's Honky Tonk
Diane's Honky Tonk is one of the festival's seven stages. It's also a terrific spot to
find a dance floor and a rockin' good time with some of the best local and regional
bands around. But, it's also the venue on the festival grounds where contest winners throughout the day will be announced. Every hour, on the hour, we'll be
announcing winners for a whole host of prizes and contests.
Contests include "Best Dude and Dudette," "Best Patriotic-wear," and "Best Festival-wear" as well as prizes for "Best Selfies," and "Best Dancers." There will be
door prizes and much more. Put yourself on the floor or sit back and enjoy!
Picnic with Delicious Festival and Fair Food
We've brought in a parade of some of Kern County's highest-rated restaurants and
caterers as well as some of the best fair food vendors for festive treats. It's a culinary delight and a foodie's dream.
You might want to check out what Cafe Med has cooked up for the festival or pick
your favorite ice cream snack from Ben and Jerry's. And don’t forget the delicious
food from Smokey Lane BBQ, Hodel’s Country Dining, Victor’s Mexican Grill, and
Michaelangelo’s Pizza.
You're going to love picnicking at the festival!

Check Out the Latest Work and
Souvenirs from Festival Performers
The musicians performing on the national Rock, Legends, and Country stages will
be showcasing their latest offerings from compact discs to t-shirts in the Stars &
Stripes Arcade.
This is the venue for you if you are a collector or enjoy learning more about some
of the talent you’ve been introduced to throught the festival.
Catch up on what your favorite festival performers have been recording and shop
for a little extra festival gear. There will be vendors offering goodies throughout
the festival grounds, but the Stars and Stripes Arcade is the focal point of festival
shopping.
Engage in a Conversation with Your
Favorite Festival Musicians
The festival organizers have been advertising that there are seven stages packed
with great entertainment at the festival. And, that’s true. But, there’s actually an
eighth stage at the festival.
The eighth stage is dedicated to "meet and greets" and interviews in which audience members will be able to interact directly with musicians in an informal, conversational setting. Announcements about who will be appearing on the eighth
stage will be made throughout the day at the national stages and via the festival
app.
Enjoy a Light, Healthy Snack from
the Festival Farmers Market
The Farmers Market is a terrific place to obtain easy-and-ready-to-eat, convenient local produce to snack on throughout the festival or to take home.
The CSUB Women's Basketball Team will be serving baskets of fresh fruit, vegetables, nuts
and drinks donated by local farmers and produce distributors throughout the day. You can sit
at the market and enjoy or grab a basket and take it with you.
For something light and healthy the Farmers Market is a favorite. Most of the food has been
washed and/or packaged in advance, so it’s perfect for busy festival-goers who want to stay
healthy and enjoy some of the best local produce available. Best of all, all proceeds go to the
Lady Runners’ August Trip to play basketball in Costa Rica.
