Use only the yarn specified. Other yarns are likely to produce different results.
Quantities are approximate as they can vary between knitters.
Check the ball bands to ensure all yarn is from the same dye lot.
• 1 pair each 6.50mm (UK 3) and 7.00mm (UK 2) knitting
needles.
• wool needle and plain yarn for sewing seams.
• 3 buttons.
TENSION
10 sts and 17 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 6.50mm
needles.
To work a tension square, using 6.50mm needles, cast on 15 sts.
Work 26 rows stocking st. Cast off loosely.
Check your tension carefully.
If less sts to 10cm use smaller needles, if more sts use bigger
needles.

Shape Shoulder –
Using 7.00mm needles, cast off rem 3 (4-4-5-7) sts loosely.
Back
Right Front
Using 7.00mm needles, cast on 28 (30-32-34-38) sts loosely.
Change to 6.50mm needles and work 4 (4-8-6-8) rows stocking st.
Using 7.00mm needles, cast on 17 (18-19-20-22) sts loosely.
Change to 6.50mm needles and work 4 (4-8-6-8) rows stocking st.

Next row – K1, K2tog, yfwd, knit to end (buttonhole).
Work 8 rows, dec one st at side edge in last row … 15 (16-17-1820) sts.

Right Piece –
Using 7.00mm needles, cast on 18 (18-20-20-20) sts loosely.
Change to 6.50mm needles and work 4 rows stocking st.
Cont in stocking st, inc one st at each end of next row, then in
every foll 10th (8th-16th-12th-12th) row until there are 22 (24-2426-26) sts.
Cont without futher shaping until Sleeve measures 13 (16-19-2123) cm from beg, ending with a purl row.
Shape Top –
Cast off 2 sts loosely at beg of next 2 rows … 18 (20-20-22-22) sts.
Dec one st at each end of next row, then in every foll alt row until 14 (1410-14-10) sts rem, then in every row until 4 sts rem.
Cast off rem 4 sts loosely.
Hood (worked in two pieces)
Left Piece –
Using 7.00mm needles, cast on 16 (16-17-18-18) sts loosely.
Change to 6.50mm needles and work 32 (32-36-40-40) rows
stocking st. **
Dec one st at beg of next row, then at same edge in every row until
8 (8-9-10-10) sts rem.
Using 7.00mm needles, cast off loosely.

until 8 (8-9-10-10) sts rem.
Using 7.00mm needles, cast off loosely.
Ears (make 2)
Using 6.50mm needles, cast on 4 sts.
Work 6 rows stocking st.
Cast off loosely.
To Make Up
DO NOT PRESS. Join shoulder seams. Join side and sleeve
seams. Sew in sleeves. Join back and top seam (shaped edges)
of hood together. Sew cast-on edge of hood to neck edge,
noting to place seam at centre back neck and beginning and
ending at edges of fronts, easing any extra fullness to backneck.
Sew on buttons. Attach ears to hood as pictured.
