Earth Day—April 22nd 2015
Earth Day is celebrated
on Tuesday April 22nd.
On this day the
recreation
Department is asking
the assistance of the
residents to head
outside to help clean
up our grounds in the
morning. Garbage bags
and picker sticks will be
supplied to
everyone who helps.
We need to respect
our environment and
keep it clean for our
children and grand
children.
.
Earth Day originated
back on April 22nd
1970. People all over
Canada made promises
to help the
environment.
Everyone got involved
and since then, Earth
Day has spread all over
the planet.
People all over the
world know that there
are problems we need
to work on and this is
our special day to look
at the planet and see
what needs changing.
Is it not great that one
person had an idea and
kept working until
everyone began
working together to
solve it! Lets give a
hand and show the
planet what Barrhaven
Retirement can do as a
team.
Thank you and Congratulations everyone!!!!
Barrhaven Retirement Community was able to raise $310.00
to the Heart and Stroke Institute . Some of us may have used
the heart and stroke institute or known someone that has, it is
great that we all cared with our hearts to save others hearts.
Thank you to all who donated

Big Sky Ranch Animal Sanctuary was established in 2002. Originally a hobby farm, Big Sky Ranch would become known to so many
animals as a "Safe Haven" and an opportunity to recover from
their past lives or professions, as well as restore their trust & faith
in humans. Big Sky Ranch has visited Barrhaven Retirement
Home in the past with a few of their wonderful animals, visiting
Big Sky Animal Ranch will give us a wonderful chance to see the
work and dedication that goes in to rehabilitate each animal.
