2014 A / W COLLECTION
Celeni 2014 A/W Porcelain collection
As it is already shown in the name of this collection, the major inspiration was porcelain, which determined the material
usage and silhouettes. The designer’s goal was to develop a collection that reflects the motifs of porcelain as well
as the material. This was a key reason for using white as the main color throughout the whole collection. Crate
patterns found on the edges of porcelain plates and cups are stylized in the patterns used on dresses as well as
blouses supplemented with knitted pieces. A beautiful variant of this pattern is the wool, of which the coat and
certain details of blazers are developed. The unique, open work blue material, used in skirts and blazers appears as
an answer to our knitted clothing, reviving porcelain patterns of Frankenthal style combining classical with modern
technologies. All patterns in the collection have been developed according to the Hungarian Herendi porcelain inspiration,
rethinking the endless variations of fishnet used by the factory.
Detail is a very important essence of this collection that is very well represented in the almost black jacquard textile
with hidden flower motif resembling the Victoria pattern of Herend. Patterns are really visible only in linings and
tailored lines.
Eszter’s purpose was to enhance a collection that is modern but at the same time emphasizes the feminine form.
She is mixing the appearance of porcelain feeling in textiles as well as silhouettes, using modern printing and manufacturing
technologies. The white kaikemon or so called Indian flower basket is a classic pattern, which compensates rough
fishnet patterns. All this reflects a romantic yet modern world in the same way as the straight and oversized lines
answer to tailored, very feminine details.
The modern material usage adds to the idea of touching a porcelain object, not risking the pleasant and quality touch
of each piece. Coats and blazers made of triacetate are very comfortable, making it possible to wear only two layers
even in cold weather. Silhouettes besides featuring the forms and parameters of porcelain combine the feminine
tailored lines of the late 50’s American fashion.
All metal accessories sparkle, sometimes in hidden details or on the outer closings, like the edges of porcelain plates
or cups. Jewelleries are made in a unique way. The base and ornament is the Herend and Meissen porcelain, that
was selected in every case by the designer one by one. These antique pieces have been inserted into golden toned
sockets, that are supported by pearls and chain, reminding us of the atmosphere of the accessories worn in the 50’s.
All these feminine pieces are matching to the idea of the whole collection, but they do work separately with other
choices of the customer’s wardrobe.
There is no identical piece, since every one of them is made by hand.
