TEAM CAPTAIN’S GUIDE
Thank you for your interest in Bowl For Kids’ Sake 2015! Your participation will make a BIG
difference for children in our community, as this event raises at least 25% of the annual
operating budget for Big Brothers Big Sisters of CYDC. Our 2015 goal is to raise $40,000!
As a Team Captain, it will be your responsibility to:

Recruit four (4) additional people to bowl on your team.

Forward team member names to Big Brothers Big Sisters by March 16th.




Obtain pledge sheets from Big Brothers Big Sisters and provide them to your team members.
Pledge sheets will be available in early February. Participants may also set up a personal
fundraising page online (see the directions on the next page).
Your team will raise money for BBBS by obtaining pledges from friends, family, and coworkers. The goal is for each team member to raise $100, with a total team goal of $500.
You can also use corporate matching grants, where they are available, to double or triple
your contributions (check with your employer about matching grants).
Make lane reservations for your team by calling the BBBS office by March 16th at (843) 2665232 or logging on to www.BecomeABig.org. Your team will bowl 2 games at the reserved
time. Snacks are provided, and games and shoes are free.
Have fun while helping kids!
Be sure your team members secure their pledges. Pledge sheets and pledges may be turned in the
day of the event or mailed to BBBS at the address listed below. Remember, you do not have to
collect the pledges, we will do that for you. Remind your teammates about great prizes for large
donations collected.

Click the "Start Fundraising" Button and select the Bowl For
Kids’ Sake 2015 event. Then click “fundraise.”
You can create or join a team or choose not to join a team.
Personalize the text and the photo. Use the artwork that is
available, or upload a personal picture.
Tell them why you love Big Brothers Big Sisters, why you are
involved. Give your own personal story.
Send the link out to anyone you know. Remember, sponsors do
not need to live in the Charleston area, anyone can sponsor
you! You can even share on social media.
Set your goals high! You are raising money to make the future
brighter for your community's children!
Come out and bowl on March 21st. Make lane reservations for
your team by March 16th. Call (843) 266-5232 or log on to
www.becomeabig.org. Your team will bowl 2 games at the
reserved time. Lunch is provided.
You can also ask for pledges with your paper pledge sheet. Please
contact us if you would like us to send you a paper pledge sheet.
