Ariella Maron
Principal
Buro Happold Engineering
Ariella Maron is a principal at BuroHappold, where she provides strategy consulting services
related to energy management, climate action, sustainability, and resilience. Prior to joining
BH, she served as the Deputy Commissioner for Energy Management at DCAS and Deputy
Director of the Mayor’s Office of Long-Term Planning and Sustainability, leading both planning
and implementation efforts in support of the City’s long-term climate action, ecological, and
economic development goals. Ariella also served as a senior project manager in the Energy
Division of the NYC Economic Development Corporation, and as an urban planner in the Bronx
Office of the NYC Department of City Planning. Since joining BuroHappold, Ariella has led the BuroHappold Cities team on a range of projects,
including strategic input and project management for the development of comprehensive
energy master plans for five of the largest cities in New York State, the design and
management of a resilient technologies competition, RISE:NYC, and a long-term master
planning effort for the Jamaica Bay. She has also been involved in a wide array of urban
planning and infrastructure projects in New York City and across the country.

Dana Bourland
Vice President of the Environment Program
The JPB Foundation
Dana is Vice President of the Environment Program at The JPB Foundation. In this role Dana
works at the intersection of issues related to health, poverty and the environment. Dana is
leading the creation and development of JPB’s environment program with a goal to enable
resilient communities across the US. Formerly Dana was Vice President of Green Initiatives for
Enterprise Community Partners where she led environmental strategy for the national
organization. Dana developed and oversaw all aspects of Enterprise’s award-winning Green
Communities program including the creation of the Green Communities Criteria and
Enterprise’s multifamily retrofit program. Dana co-created and served as managing director of
the Green Communities Offset Fund. In 2009, Dana was responsible for leading Enterprise’s
effort to catalyze the public, private and nonprofit sectors to make all affordable housing
green by 2020.
A Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, Dana is a graduate of Harvard University’s Graduate
Program in Real Estate and holds a Master of Planning Degree from the Hubert H. Humphrey
Institute of Public Affairs, Univ. of Minnesota. She is a certified planner (AICP), and a LEED
Accredited Professional and in 2012 completed a Residency at the Rockefeller Foundation’s
Bellagio Center. Dana was named one of Fast Company Magazine’s Most Influential Women
Activists in Technology and a Young Leader by Affordable Housing Finance. As a national
leader in green development, Dana has chaired industry wide conferences and addressed
national and international audiences on topics related to green development, sustainability
and affordable housing.
Cited in numerous trade and popular publications for work on the intersection of health,
poverty and the environment. Publications include: Affordable Housing Finance, Fast
Company Magazine, The Economist, and USA Today. Dana contributed to several books on the
topic of sustainable development including: “Women in Green: Voices of Sustainable Design;”
“Apollo’s Fire: Igniting America’s Clean Energy Economy;” “Becoming an Urban Planner: A
Guide to Careers in Planning and Urban Design;” “Growing Greener Cities: Urban
Sustainability in the Twenty-First Century;” “The Next American Opportunity: Good Policies
for a Great America.” Dana was featured on National Public Radio’s Living on Earth and
included as faculty in Fast Company’s 30-second MBA program providing a response to the
question “How do you think about sustainability?” Dana enjoys traveling around the world and
recently completed her first full Ironman race.

Bomee Jung
Senior Director and NY Deputy Director
Enterprise Community Partners, Inc.
Bomee Jung provides management and strategic planning leadership in Enterprise’s New York market,
where Enterprise has created or preserved more than 44,000 affordable homes for 114,000 residents
and committed nearly $2.5 billion in equity, grants and loans to community development projects
since 1987.
Deputy Director since 2012, Bomee leads the development of new initiatives and oversees programs in
sustainability, Sandy response and resiliency, housing for extremely low-income individuals and
families, and state and local policy. From 2008 to 2012, Bomee led Enterprise’s Green Communities
Initiative in New York. She facilitated New York City’s adoption of the Enterprise Green Communities
Criteria and led a successful $20 million Weatherization Assistance Program that provided energy
efficiency upgrades to more than 2,200 apartments in 18 months using federal stimulus funding.
Before joining Enterprise in 2008, Bomee founded and directed GreenHomeNYC, a volunteer-driven
nonprofit that is now in its 11th year of promoting sustainability through green building education and
peer-learning. Prior to GreenHomeNYC, she programmed web-enabled applications for media
companies and start-ups, including The Sundance Channel and blink.com, a bookmarking service.
Bomee holds a Master in City Planning degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and
bachelor’s degree in comparative literature and Japanese from the University of Georgia. She serves
on the board of Asian Americans for Equality.

Kit Kennedy
Director of the Energy and Transportation Program
Natural Resources Defense Council
Katherine (Kit) Kennedy is the Director of the Energy and Transportation Program at the
Natural Resources Defense Council, with special expertise in energy efficiency, renewable
energy, global warming solutions and air and water pollution. Kit has worked at NRDC for over
twenty-five years. From 2007 to 2010, Kit served as Special Deputy Attorney General for
Environmental Protection in the Office of the New York State Attorney General, where she was
responsible for the management, supervision, and direction of the New York State Attorney
General’s Office Environmental Protection Bureau. In November 2012, Kit was appointed to the NYS Ready Commission, one of three climate
resilience commissions established by Governor Cuomo after Superstorm Sandy. From 2009 June 2013, Kit was also the Timothy B. Atkeson Environmental Lecturer in Law at Yale Law
School, where she directed the Yale Environmental Protection Clinic. She has also taught as an Adjunct Professor at Fordham University School of Law. Kit serves on
the board of the New York League of Conservation Voters Education Fund and is a member of
the executive committee of the New York State Bar Association’s Environmental Law Section.
She is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School and Harvard College.
