Improper operation of the system may result in personal injury and cause damage to objects! 1. Unplug the power cord in case of smoke, smell or unusual noise. 4 5. Height adjustment is only possible in jog mode. If an obstacle is encountered or if there is a functional fault, stop the adjustment immediately. 6. For physical reasons, „soft“ obstacles are not easily recognised and evaluated, if at all. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS 9. In case of hitting an obstacle, slight damage (scratching) to such obstacles may result (table is lifted at nominal speed). 10.Do not change or modify the control mechanism or the operating device. 11.Never open the enclosure of the control unit or power supply. Unauthorised ope ning of the enclosure or improper repairs may endanger the user and voids all warranty claims. 12.Only professionals authorised by the manufacturer may do maintenance or repair any electrical equipment. 13.Do not operate devices in explosive environments. 5 14.This table is admitted only for the commercial office area and management. 15.This appliance must not be used by any person (including children) with limited physical, sensorial or mental abilitiesor failing experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or received instructions about how to use the appliance.Children should be supervised in order to make sure that theydo not play with the appliance. 16.The manufacturer assumes no liability for damage resulting from improper use. Cables must be sufficiently long to allow height adjustments without damaging the cables and wiring (i.e., stretching, crushing, ...). 6 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS 23.For the above reasons do not install the control unit: - - - - - above or in front of heat sources (e.g. radiators) at places exposed to direct sunlight in small, unventilated or humid rooms near easily flammable materials near high-frequency devices (e.g. transmitters, radiation equipment, or similar devices) Warning: In the event of a fault it is possible that the table top moves a bit during every attempt whilst operating before the safety switch off kicks in. Please take care to avoid the possible danger of crushin. 7 Warning: During all reset procedures (section 5) the collision protection is not active. Please take care to avoid possible danger of crushing. Please note: Please note: If the product is visibly damaged it must not be installed or used further. 24.After 2 minutes of continuous operation the system automatically shuts itself off and cannot be used for an additional 18 minutes. This keeps the motor from overheating. 25.Do not exceed maximum load of 75 kg. PROTECTION Standard protection against uncontrolled movement: Every table is fitted with standard protection against uncontrolled movement (“Base”) which significantly reduces any potential risk of getting caught or crushed. If the sensor detects a spontaneous increase in force, as would happen in a collision, the movement is stopped via a signal sent to the controller, which then allows movement of approximately 40 mm in the opposite direction. Increased protection against uncontrolled movement: Additional collision sensors are integrated into the column in the “Safety” version. These are detected automatically during the reset operation upon first use (audible double-click). If the sensor detects a spontaneous increase in force, as would happen in a collision, the movement is stopped via a signal sent to the controller, which then allows movement of approximately 40 mm in the opposite direction. NOTES: The sensor’s sensitivity and the obtainable shut-off threshold depend on the entire system; due to construction characteristics, these features vary at different points. Reference values for spontaneous increase in force: Standard protection against uncontrolled movement at average 355N (Min 280N - Max 593N) Increased protection against uncontrolled movement at average 313N (Min 193N - Max 503N) 17 ATTENTION: The implementation must be the same with both columns. Increased protection against uncontrolled movement: “Safety” standard protection against uncontrolled movement: “Base Increased protection against uncontrolled movement: Colour BLACK Standard protection against uncontrolled movement: Colour GREY Warning: However, despite the protection against uncontrolled movement there may still be a risk of getting caught or crushed in exceptional cases, since the interaction of mechanics and electronics is responsible for the motor shutdown and not just the motor controller. The mechanics, motor and environmental conditions also affect the shutdown sensitivity. Kesseböhmer ergonomic technology cannot therefore completely rule out this residual risk and accepts no liability for it. Safety instructions: The protection against uncontrolled movement, even with the sensor, does not necessarily protect people from harm and therefore cannot berated and/or labelled as a protective device. CLICK CODES 22 As soon as the controller is supplied with power, the controller uses its built-in relays to audibly inform the user about the system status. The following table shows the correlation between the number of clicks and what they mean. NUMBER OF CLICKS STATUS INFORMATION 2x close together Normal operating mode: The system is working properly. The signal is only produced right after the controller is supplied with power. (quick double-click) 2x far apart (slow double-click) 3x close together (quick triple-click) 3x far apart (slow triple-click) Reset mode: The system is currently in reset mode. This signal is always produced when the table should not be lowered in the reset direction (up button and/or memory buttons) Sensor missing: The crush protection sensor is not connected to the controller. This signal is always produced when the table is to be moved (up/down button and/or memory buttons) Maximum allowable operation time reached: This signal is always produced when the table is to be lowered (down button) Note: The click codes produced when saving memory positions or saving/deleting pedestal- and shelf-stop positions are described in the relevant sections. CERTIFICATES Gentle and proper cleaning of furniture surfaces and partition walls is especially important in retaining their optimum condition for as long as possible. We generally recommend cleaning with a moist, fluff-free cloth, moistened with pure water without the addition of any cleaning agents; furniture polishes or similar. If cleaning with a damp cloth proves not to be adequate, careful use of a mild plastics cleaner without abrasive additive is admissible on melamine surfaces. Wood polishes must not be used on open-pored lacquered veneer surfaces (oak, walnut, ash and bamboo). 30 alcohol or softeners. The same applies for scratching cleaning agents with abrasive additives. Glass and material surfaces are to be cleaned in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. Please contact Bene for information and documentation on this matter. Bene can not assume any liability for damage to surfaces caused as a result of improper cleaning. Gottfried Fuchs (Head of Group Engineering, Quality and Environmental Management) DI (FH) Karl Zankl (Department Head, Executive Furniture) This settles into the open pores, closes them and gives the surface a greasy, glossy appearance after a while. The desired semi-gloss and open-pored veneer appearance is ruined. Furniture polishes available off-the-shelf can be used for closed-pore lacquered surfaces (cherry, beech and maple). They fill the finest of scratches in the lacquer and cover them up relatively well.An enhanced glossy appearance of the surface is difficult to prevent. Never use polishes containing silicon, caustic cleaning agents with ammonia additives, DISPOSAL Instructions for the disposal of Bene products can be found in the sustainability report at: http://www.bene.com NOTES 31 ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................................... ...................................................................................................................
