BERDAV®soft SmaiL Instructions (english)

BERDAV®soft - SmaiL© - Interactive Mailbox Network
SL Group Notices are quick and easy,
yet there often messages get lost, be it because of crashes or frequent relogs.
BERDAV®soft - SmaiL©
has been developed especially for use in residential estates environments
and provides a new communications platform (one way) between 1 Server (Sender)
and multiple Clients/MailBoxes (receivers), a plus of prevention against missing messages and a
plus of realism by interactively retreiving ... mail (go to the mailbox).

Owner Manual (Server)
Additional features for the owner only:
These following functions are triggered by the use of 3 certain notecards.
Dropping one of these notecards on the Server will instantly trigger their certain function.
Imagine those notecards as "remote control NCs".
On these notecards, write the UUID of those Clients only that you want to maintain at this very
moment.
Only one UUID per line! Multiple UUIDs possible.
The ("remote control") notecards:
"restart"
resets the Client's script.
Deletes all the Client's messages.
Will not overwrite the Client's description.
(also see: Server menu -> "Clients" -> "Reset default")
"empty"
Deletes all messages in the Clients.
"active"
Sends login request to those Clients listed on the notecard.
Has no impact on other Clients.
Server's default content:
1 script "sender",
3 scripts "email",
1 notecard "config",
1 notecard "help" (This is the "Server Quick User Tour")
You may put multiple copies of the "email" script in the Server's content,
There is a limitation of 1 email each 20 seconds per script within SL.
So, by (reasonably) increasing the number of "email" script copies in the Server's content,
you can decrease the ammount of time that is required supplying all Clients.
It does not make sense to put more "email" scripts into the Server
than there are Clients.
Examples:
10 Clients,
10 Clients,
10 Clients,
10 Clients,
50 Clients,
1 "email" script
5 "email" scripts
10 "email" scripts
20 "email" scripts
80 "email" scripts
duration:
200 seconds

Modifying:
Both, server and client(s) come with modify permissions (scripts are no mod).
We however do not recommend and will not support exchanging the objects with your own ones
as some of the mesh faces feature certain functions.
Exchanging the hardware with your own one might cause malfunctions on both ends.
Yet, for retexturing, we provide the texture master files for the server and client for download.
A graphic application such as Photoshop or Gimp is required.
Drag and drop your custom edited textures on all mesh faces but not the shadow face.
