Members are asked to be watchful with their valuables and to question strangers who come into the grounds of the Club. Please keep all gates closed at all times. If you are the last to leave, please ensure the Clubhouse is locked. All senior members and some junior members are entitled to a key for the Clubhouse. They are supplied for the cost of cutting. See the Club noticeboard for the latest details and costs. Parking and Access Please note that parking is not allowed on Seven Corners Lane at any time. The nearest parking spaces are in North Bar Without, but please check local notices for parking restrictions. The Club does have several bicycle hoops, for those wanting to cycle. Pedestrian access to the Club is permitted from York Road past Park Lodge and Park House although this is not a public right of way. Social Events A number of social events are planned each season. Keep an eye on the Club noticeboards for details and if you want to organise anything yourself, the committee would be delighted to hear from you. Courtesy and behaviour All members are reminded that it is a courtesy to play only one short set of doubles when others are waiting for a court. Members must endeavour to see that this courtesy rule is observed. Please also bear in mind that the Club is located in a residential area and we should behave considerately to our neighbours at all times. Dress Members must play in suitable tennis gear. For your own safety, please wear proper tennis shoes. Training shoes are not suitable for our playing surface. Your shoe tag must be displayed when playing at the Club. Club Clothing We have Club clothing with our own logo. Navy blue hoodies and white polo shirts are currently available in various sizes at competitive prices. Look out for flyers and watch the Club noticeboards for more details. Wimbledon Tickets The Club’s allocation of Wimbledon tickets will again be distributed by an attended ballot. To enter you must have paid your BERLTC subs, be a British Tennis member registered to our Club and have opted in to the ballot.. Check your BTM details by logging in to the LTA website. British Tennis Membership – FREE Senior members should sign up to the British Tennis scheme at http://www.lta.org.uk.There is no charge.The LTA website has details of the benefits. All members are asked to make sure they are registered as BERLTC members by British Tennis Child Protection Policies & LTA Clubmark The Club is LTA Clubmark accredited – see the Clubhouse for the latest details. Parents are reminded that no supervision of junior members is provided except during formal coaching sessions. Use of Courts for Coaching Coaching is an important part of the life and future of the Club. Coaching takes priority on certain courts at certain times – see the notice and weekly timetable in the Clubhouse. Club Rules A copy of the rules is given to all new senior members and a copy is displayed on the Club’s noticeboard. If you want a printed copy, please contact the Hon Secretary. BERLTC online. Mens, ladies, mixed and junior teams all play in local leagues. Club tennis is available for all senior members on Wednesday afternoon and evenings, Saturday afternoons and Sundays. We are a Mini-Tennis Accredited Club and have a thriving junior membership. The Club is affiliated to the LTA. Subscriptions are due on 1 April. Where applicable there is a prompt payment discount, but you must pay your subs before the 19h April deadline to qualify for this. Please complete the application form and send to the Ian Plaistowe along with the appropriate fee. Do I Get a Membership Card? No, on payment of subs, members will be issued with an annual shoe tag. Yes, but a visitor’s fee applies and no one visitor may play more than 3 times per season. The names of all visitors should be recorded in the Visitor’s Book, along with the name of the member who introduced them. Fees can be paid to a Committee member if available at the time of play. Junior visitors are permitted only by prior arrangement with the Honorary Secretary. Temporary Memberships are available on application to the Honorary Secretary. Other Membership Categories. Do you live far away from the Club (Country member)? Do you want to play only with your child who is a Junior Member (Support member)? Do you only wish to play in the winter? We can do special deals for special circumstances – please contact the Hon Secretary on 07708197245 When Can I Play? The courts are open for play every day. When league matches are played, two or three courts will normally be required, leaving at least four courts for other use. On Saturday morning and Friday evening some courts are reserved for junior coaching. At all other times juniors have priority on the Junior Priority Court (Court 7). Wednesday evenings (floodlit in winter), Saturday afternoons and Sundays are the main times for members to play club tennis, mingling without prior arrangement in informal doubles games. Head coach Tom Davies (07976 189671) will again be leading our junior and adult coaching programmes in 2015. New and less confident players are recommended to take advantage of a few lessons before taking part in club tennis. Junior Coaching. Details of our junior programme are in our junior tennis information sheet and posted on information boards at the Club. The Club has junior teams in the local leagues. All new junior members receive a free group coaching session - contact Tom Davies to arrange. Adult Group Coaching. Adult improver group coaching sessions will take place from March to December on Friday mornings (not school holidays) from 0930 to 1100. Men’s team practice will be on six Thursdays from 19 March. Ladies interested in team tennis can join Tom’s group sessions on Tuesdays (not school holidays) from 7.30 to 8.30pm. Group coaching can be arranged at other times too - just talk to Tom Individual Coaching. Individual lessons are available with Tom and his coaching team all year round. More details from Tom Davies (07976 189671) Teams. The Club will be entering ladies, mens, mixed and junior teams in various local leagues this year. If you would like to be considered for a team, please contact one of the team captains or match secretaries, who will be pleased to hear from you. You can indicate your interest on the membership application form. Please note that you must have paid your club subscription in order to be eligible for team selection and that a match fee of £1 per (senior) player per match will be collected by the Team Captains. Junior and Senior Club Championships. Matches will be played from May to September 2015. Finals Day will be on Saturday 5 September. Check the member’s pack for the application form, which should be returned to the Membership Secretary with your Club membership application form.
