Passport to Manhood - promotes and teaches responsibility in Club boys ages 8-13. This program consists of 14 sessions, each of which concentrates on a specific aspect of adulthood through highly interactive activities. Each Club participant will begin a personal journey of maturation and growth in a positive and safe environment that promotes communication and understanding. Boys Club represents a targeted effort to engage young men in discussions activities that reinforce positive behavior. Power Hour - helps Club members academic success by providing homework help, tutoring, and high-yield learning activities by encouraging members to become selfdirected learners. Members earn points for completing homework, reading, and completing/participating in other educational activities such as worksheets, flash cards & educational games. SMART Girls - offers young women – ages 8 to 17 – guidance toward healthy attitudes and lifestyles, eating right, staying fit, getting good health care and more. Encouraging young women to have healthy attitudes and lifestyles, SMART Girls helps them reach their full potential. Through dynamic sessions, group activities, field trips and mentoring opportunities with adult women, Club girls enjoy the opportunity to build skills for eating right, staying physically fit, getting good health care, and developing positive relationships. Other topics addressed include how the media influences attitudes about females; date rape and sexual harassment; sexually transmitted diseases; sexual myths and truths; getting regular gynecological care; and physical and emotional changes girls experience. SPARK - encourages members to be active by participating in group games that focus on having fun and working together instead of competition. This program focuses on skill development and living a positive lifestyle by showing that exercise can be fun. Torch Club - is a small charter that focuses on leadership and service boys and girls ages 11-13. Members learn to elect officers and work together to implement activities in four areas: service to Club and community, education, health and fitness and social recreation. Participants will plan volunteer and fundraising projects for the program. Youth for Unity - features age-appropriate programming for youth ages 6 to 12, teens and parents; training and resources for Club professionals; and a leadership awards program. The program builds the capacity of local Clubs to help their members appreciate themselves as unique and special individuals, understand diversity in society, recognize bias and unfairness and take personal leadership in confronting bias.
