Welcome to Narasimha Chaturthi 2015 on Saturday 02 May Please read the following flyer to find out crucial information and guidelines about the events. 1 Location Sri Bhakti Lakshmi Narasimha Temple, 99 Harlington Road West, Feltham, Middlesex, TW14 0JG Time 3:30pm (Doors open at 3pm) until late evening Cost The event is free but you are welcome to give a donation to help cover the organisational costs. See the ‘Donations (Dakshina)’ section for more details below. Travel & Parking 10 to 15 minutes drive from the M4, M3 and M25 Nearest over ground rail station is Feltham and then a 10 minute walk to the Temple Nearest underground rail station is Hatton Cross (Piccadilly Line) and then a 20 minute walk to the Temple Take buses 490, 285 or 90 to Lansbury Avenue (Stop J coming from Hatton Cross and Stop F coming from Feltham). This bus journey takes between 5- 10 minutes from either station. Parking is available but limited in the surrounding roads. The Venue The Temple is a small residential house. Sri Bhakti Lakshmi Narasimha Himself is in a small living room. Therefore, we ask for your patience and please be aware of the following Changing There are NO changing facilities at the Temple as the upper part of the house is out of bounds, so please come in your full change of clothes beforehand; Seating TRAVEL LIGHT as there is extremely little space for coats, bags and cushions; Unfortunately due to limited space, there are NO chairs in the main Temple room – people can only sit on the floor. Chairs will be available in front of an outdoor projector at the side of the house, which will show live footage of what is happening inside the Temple 2 Outside the Temple Please respect our neighbours by not dropping litter, blocking driveways and making too much noise when entering and leaving. 3 Celebrations The evening will feature the following: o Kailash Puja (ritual ceremony) and Yagna (fire ceremony) as an offering o Appearance of Lord Narasimha in His most Powerful form – Ugra Narasimha o Maha Abishek to Sri Bhakti Lakshmi Narasimha o Final Darshan of Sri Bhakti Lakshmi Narasimha There will be lively kirtan and inspirational speeches throughout the evening. Depending on the number of people registering, it is likely that seating in the temple will be split into 3 different parts, so everyone has the chance to be close to Lord Narasimha on this special evening. Donations (Dakshina) In accordance with the Hindu tradition, you will have the opportunities to pay your respects to the Deity by offering Dakshina to Lord Narasimha when taking His Darshan Prayers Please participate by joining in with the singing and clapping your hands. It is far more beneficial to you and all involved, if everyone actively participates in the prayers as oppose to doing individual meditation during these periods. Active participation in the main temple area is vital to keep up the uplifting ambience. The majority of the prayers will simply involve Kirtan, which is repeating only a few of the Lord’s different names. Please do not speak amongst yourselves during the prayers. Please switch off mobile phones/ alarms or keep them on Silent. If you have young children or babies, please take them outside of the main temple area if they are unable to sit quietly and join in the prayers. Photography/ Audio and Visual Recordings We respectfully ask that no personal photography/ recordings of any kind are taken during the evening. Only those who have been tasked to do so by Bhakti Marga UK are permitted. Dress Code Please be respectful of the occasion and all fellow attendees by dressing discretely. o Women should ideally come dressed in sarees or a long skirt (please no shorts, mini-skirts, revealing/fitted tops etc.) 4 o Men should try to come in a kurtha – if not possible, please come smartly dressed (long shirt and smart trousers) Pets Please understand no Pets are allowed on the premises. Shoes/Footwear Please remove all footwear at the entrance. Food and Drink Please do not eat or drink in the main Temple room.
