FISHING REPORT
Flatter sea conditions this week may lead to some better fishing opportunities for everyone. With
the winter weather and nasty snow accumulation up north the local hotels and motels are near
capacity and so are the nerves of many locals. Once you get offshore anglers should be able to
score some big fish from the reefs and from open water trolling. Kingfish under eight pounds
should start to be available daily and that means bigger Kings are on their way south. Small
dolphin have been caught from the rock reefs to well past 12 miles off shore. These fish have
been hitting trolled ballyhoo and big artificial lures tipped with bonito ballyhoo strips. A few
large dolphin have been caught however, the bulk of the big dolphin action is occurring well south
of us in the Florida Keys. From Islamorada west anglers have been catching dolphin over 30
pounds daily. Live baits will be the secret to a fish box load of good eating fish. Take the time
necessary to boat 12-24 live baits and you will be icing down a bunch of fish. Take the live baits
you catch from the pier area and head east to about 40 feet of water where you should be able to
catch your daily limit of kingfish and maybe a good size grouper or two. Easy to catch fish lately
have been blue runners, grunts and other bottom fish most folks just toss back.

If anyone has a recipe that they would like to share, please
email it to me so we can have a recipe to feature in our

us to see.
We would like to have ideas from the members of the club as to what
activities you would like to see the club do. If you have any ideas
