Bird Tail Beads would like to welcome Josef Benes, from the
Czech Republic, on Wed., April 8th from 11-4pm in the presentation of his beautiful assortment of Czech glass beads.
The Czech lands are well-known for the abundance of raw
materials necessary to create the luscious glass beads that are
so popular today. Rich in history and beauty, Czech beads
are a classic in any jewelry project you are creating.
Tues. 04/07: Pearl Knotting

Few things have the classic elegance of pearls. This
is a chance to fashion a truly unique piece of jewelry
or bring in a cherished family heirloom to revitalize
through pearl restringing and knotting. This is a perfect
class for new brides and bridesmaids! Beautiful pearls
are also for sale at the store.
Wed. 04/08: Pick-Your-Own-Ellen-Class 12-3pm

Fri. 04/10: Spring Time Kumihimo Bracelet 12-4pm $25

Usher in the spring by creating stunning bracelets
through the intricate Japanese braiding technique,
Kumihimo! Choose your own array of seed beads and
colorful glass drops for fashioning a unique piece of
jewelery to call your own.

Learn two different styles of wire braiding and the ways
to get a variety of looks from just two techniques. You'll
walk away with samples to refer back to as well as a
finished bracelet that I'll help you design.
Sun. 04/12 : Dragon Eye Rings 12:30-3:30pm

Level: Advanced
Using 20 & 28 gauge wire create this spectacular ring
with a 6x10 cabachon. This is a very solid intricate ring
to adorn anyone’s finger!
Mon. 04/13: Electro-Etching Metal 10:30-4pm Class: $40
Kit Fee: $25
Instructor: Christine Born
Learn to etch patterns into 22g copper sheet metal using
eco-friendly electro-etching techniques—no harsh chemicals.
Once circles are punched out, paint patinas can be used to
color your design, and crystals can be added to make it pop!
Materials will be available for purchase at the store or you
may bring your own. Stamp designs will be available for your
use.
Wed. 04/15: Fun and Funky Baskets
11-2pm $25
Instructor: Candy Courtney
In this class learn how to wire wrap baskets and add
beads to your creation. This is a fun class so bring in
your sense of humor and think outside the box (I mean
circle)!
Sat. 04/18: Cold Forged Earrings

Cold forging is the silversmithing equivalent of blacksmithing...no coals required! We’ll practice on copper
wire to get used to the hammer technique. Then we’ll
move to the silver for these fun earrings!

Sat. 04/18: Heavy Gauge Wrapped Bracelet

Learn to wire wrap a beautiful bracelet using different
techniques with heavy gauge wire. These techniques include
making double-loop eye wraps, spiral wrapped caps & hand
made clasps.

Piercing is the term used for sawing out designs in sheet
metal. Learn best technique and tips to make it easier...
nothing worse than your blade breaking quickly! There
will be designs for pendants for you to choose from as
well as a hair pin...or come up with your own!

Level- Intermediate/Advanced

You will learn how to wire wrap a teardrop shaped
cabochon, the bail and the twining and weaving techniques. This will give you the skills and opportunity to
learn how to wire wrap any shape stone and incorporate
the techniques needed to complete a beautiful jewelry
piece.
Thurs. 04/30: Viking Knit
Instructor: Vivian Bauer

Learn the art of this classic wire weaving technique to make a
bracelet that will become an heirloom to pass down. This is
a fun technique and a must have in any wire workers repertoire. Materials: basic jewelry pliers and cutters, 10-30 ft. 24 g
copper wire, optional: 20 ft 24 g sterling silver wire. Materials are available at the store or you may bring your own. Approx cost of materials: copper: $5.00, sterling silver: $40.00
Seed Beaders (Beginners) $25- $35 class fee
Constance Mitro-Johnson is available to teach beginners all of the basic stitches such as peyote, herringbone (Ndebele),
right angle weave, brick, etc. You will make samplers of the stitches you would like to learn.
***10% discount will be given on the day of class for class supplies. This discount does not apply to consignment
pieces, gift cards or classes.
Out of respect for classmates, please do not wear any fragrances when attending class.
Classes will only be held if there are 2 or more people attending. “Do the Buddy System”: When signing up for a
class, encourage a buddy to take it with you to make sure the class is not cancelled and you will be able to enjoy
the techniques you wanted to learn.
Class Cancellation Policy: If you will not be able to attend a class, then a 3 day notice (not counting day of class)
must be given for a full refund or to reschedule your class.
