BLACK GENIUS FESTIVAL
Boasting more than 4000 visitors and 100 exhibitors in 4
years, the Black Genius Festival is recognized as one of the
best Afro Caribbean exposition in France.
The Diaspora and its talents also rose to the occasion. This
gathering’s original artistic form, meets the approval of an
affleuent cultural elite, allowing for the best talents to showcase their creative genius.
Motivated by a will to display a patchwork of creativity and
excellence, this event was initiated in June 2009 by a Pan
African woman Laytah KONQUA. Under the thematic area
of Culture, this timeless fair epitomizes the discovery of the
African continent in its full glory.

« While visiting Kokrobite Beach in Ghana, I
saw very poor children who had next to nothing.
Although the children of Kokrobite live in appalling hygienic conditions, they shared everything they had including the simplest things
of life.
Older children took care of the younger ones,
simple things.
Watching them I had the feeling that as a
Westerner, I could help the children of Kokrobite not only out of patriotism but above all
because it is a humanitarian duty.
That is why I decided to set up the Rekhsia
Institute at Kokrobite in Ghana, for the sake of
our children and our future. Enough of injustice, misery, and scheming.

The Rekh Sia institute
THE PROJECT
The Rekh Sia institute aims to be an
orphanage that helps children develop
in dignity by providing them educational and social support.
All our energy in Black genius Festival is to promote Rekhsia , which will
be launched in Ghana in September
2017, will be an open and conducive
space for needy children

to design and implement this ambitious Rekhsia is located at Kokrobite, a

The institute aims to provide needy local children a safe
and healthy place where they can develop, learn
and grow.

The following measures will be taken in order to ensure
sustainable development :
Energy self-sufficiency by installing solar panels and biogas
Food self-sufficiency with a micro farm
Self-sufficiency in potable water by sinking a hand-pump well
Every child has the right to feel safe, to be loved and
to receive a decent education.
The goal of the institute is to safeguard and protect
the rights of children.
It will host and feed vulnerable children who are
distressed or abused.
Orphans, abandoned children, children with poor
parents
The institute will guarantee them shelter, balanced
meals, clothing and medical care.
Children will receive an education and various forms of
technical agricultural training so their fate is not tied to
the city.
They will be given a multidisciplinary training on how to
create wealth for themselves and for their country.

Enriched with our experience and previous successes, we are
working from now on on the setting up of the 2014 edition of the
Black Genius Festival

On the 31st of October 2015 , the 6th edition of the Black Genius
Festival will come back, richer, more creative and more celebratory
than ever. This brand new chapter offers the best of Afro-Caribbean music in
France and will reprint its trade mark: offer and share more than music.
We remain close to the Afro-Caribbean youth concern and we will
outdo ourselves to offer a deep-felt momentum to our faithful attendees
as useful as it will be entertaining:

The 2015 selection promises to be rich in surprises.
Conference debate
Panellist debate on the various actions and concrete organization
that could lead to the Edification of a federal state.
The best of Music
A large panel of National and International artists from the upcoming Afro
Caribbean
Scene will take you on a musical journey throughout their live
shows.

More than 100 exhibitors carefully selected
for their know how will
attend to make you discover the best of their
creative genius.
