Town Council Meetings
The regular monthly meeting of the Town Council will be

on Tuesday, May 19th. 2015 and Monday June 15 ,
2015 at 8:00 am in Council Chambers.
A reminder that all Council Meetings are open to the
Public.
TOWN OFFICE CLOSURE DAYS IN MAY

The Town Office will be closed on Monday, May 11 and
th
for Victoria Day on Monday, May 18 . We apologize for
any inconvenience this may cause.
Open Air Fires in Town
The only burning that is permitted in Town must be done
in a non-combustible receptacle constructed of cement,
brick or sheet metal with a minimum 18-gauge thickness
and it must be covered with a heavy gauge screen with
openings not to exceed 13 mm. The only thing that can
be burnt in the fire pit is seasoned wood or charcoal.
Fires must be supervised, properly ventilated, and the
smoke from the fire must not interfere with another
person’s use and enjoyment of their property.
Assistant Maintenance Person
This is a permanent, full-time position.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist in maintenance & operation of Water
Treatment Plant & Lift Station
- Service & maintain equipment
- Assist in maintenance of town properties
- Operate grader, payloader, truck, etc.
- Snow removal
- Grass cutting & green space maintenance
Qualifications required:
- Valid Class 5A driver’s license
- Ability to work independently & as part of
team
- Good public relations & communication
skills
- WHMIS – or be willing to complete
- Class 1 Water/Wastewater Treatment &
distribution Certificate or be willing to work
towards getting this certificate
- Criminal Record Check required
Salary will be based on qualifications & experience
Office Assistant
This is a permanent, part-time position (15-20
hrs/week)
Duties include but are not limited to:
- General reception
- Clerical duties including photocopying,
faxing & mail
- Collect payments and issue receipts
- Preparation of bank deposits
- Maintain office supply inventories
CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR PETS
Resident’s are reminded that all dogs or cats must be
licensed, and kept on a leash when not on their owner’s
property. If a dog or cat defecates (poops) on any public
or private property other than the property of the owner,
the owner is responsible to immediately remove and
dispose of the feces in a sanitary manner. Pet owners
must also remove animal feces from their own property
in a prompt and sanitary manner. Thank you for your cooperation.

Qualifications:
- Minimum Grade 12 education – preference
given to candidates who have completed an
office administration program or who have
office experience.

FULL-TIME SUMMER
STUDENT EMLOYMENT POSITION
The BLCA and the Town of Blaine Lake invite
applications for a summer student position.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be at least 16 years old & have
attended school in 2014-15 and must be returning to
either High School or to a post secondary institution in
the fall. A Driver’s License is an asset.
Dates & Salary:
This position will pay $12.00/hour – 35 hours per week
under the Student Summer Works Program. The start
date is July 2, 2015 & end date is August 28, 2015.

- Mowing/whipper snipping grass
- Facility maintenance
- Assisting with the development of a new
children’s playground/park

COMMUNITY GARAGE SALE
The Annual Community Garage Sale will be held on the
May long weekend, May 15, 16, 17 and 18. Watch for
balloons in front of those households participating. Any
household wanting to participate in the Community
Garage Sale should put balloons up on their property on
the days they are hosting their sale.
