2x State Qualifier, Erika Richardson Welcome to the 2015 Winter Sports awards night! Tonight we celebrate the accomplishments of our athletes, teams and coaches. We have gathered as a collective group to recognize Academic All-stars, 1st and 2nd team league All-stars, and SBAAC champions. The administration at Blanchester High School appreciates the hard work and dedication our student athletes have in the classroom and during their competitions. We also appreciate the parents of our student athletes. The Blanchester Athletic community is amazing and very supportive. Thank you for all you do for Blanchester Athletics, Athletic Director After the general meeting, please proceed to the following locations. Boys Basketball - Gym Girls Basketball - Auditoria Wrestling - Mr. Lovin / Mr. Mulvihill’s combined rooms Cheerleading -Ms. Powers’ room Why do athletes play sports? It’s what they live for. They live for the practices, pre-games, cheers, long bus rides, invitational’s, countless pairs of different types of shoes, water, Gatorade, & coaches you love/hate but appreciate and respect. They live for the way it feels when they beat the other team, and knowing those two extra sprints they ran in practice were worth it. They live for the way they become a family with their team, they live for the countless songs they sing in their head while training all those hours. They live for the competition, they live for the friends, the practices, the memories, the pain, and it’s who they are. The following athletes receive the Scholar Athlete Award for maintaining a 3.5 GPA during the 2nd/3rd quarter. It is extremely difficult to put in all the practice time, travel time and game time, and still be so successful in the classroom.
