Bridge Youth and Family Services Raises Record $170,000 at Annual Gala
The organization is celebrating 50 years of providing comprehensive mental health
resources for young people and their families in six northwest Cook County townships.
May 12, 2015 (BRIDGE) – Palatine, IL. The Bridge Youth and Family Services recently held its annual
Gala, celebrating 50 years of serving young people and their families in suburban Cook County who
reside in Barrington, Hanover, Elk Grove, Maine, Schaumburg and Palatine Townships.
The 2015 Gala was held at The Meadows Club in Rolling Meadows on Saturday, April 18th, and the event
was an enormous success. Funds raised totaled $170,000, which will be utilized to continue to provide a
wide range of services. The monies represent a 40-percent increase over those raised during the 2014
Gala, and surpassed all previous events by $50,000. There also was a record attendance of 340 guests.
“The Gala was an outstanding night for The Bridge and our community,” said Gregg Stockey, executive
director of The Bridge Youth and Family Services. “The success of our 50th Anniversary celebration is a
reflection of our community’s commitment to the well-being of our area youth.”
Over the course of the last 50 years, The Bridge Youth and Family Services has evolved into a
comprehensive mental health resource, providing a continuum of services from prevention to intervention
and treatment, in addition to aftercare. The range of services provided includes family and individual
counseling, crisis intervention, mentoring, social skills, trauma recovery groups, parenting skills, and
more.
Through the generosity of the many donors and sponsors, ‘The Bridge’ is able to continue to provide
programs and services to those in-need, and no one is turned away due to an inability to pay. In addition
to their generous donor base, volunteers, both from the board of directors and the community at-large,
enable the organization to continue to serve its mission and purpose.
“I am honored to be Executive Director and to work with such fine community leaders, including our Gala
Go-Chairs, Diane Hill and Michael & Debra Strauss,” Stockey said.
