A huge thank you to Colleen

generously brought treats and
goodies throughout the week of April

appreciate the time and effort
behind your thoughtful gifts of

Before and After School Program
St. Marguerite School
The Before and After School Program
Coordinator, Linda, has announced her
retirement from the program as of June 2015.
On behalf of St. Marguerite families who have
participated in the program over the years, we
thank Linda for looking after the children, and
for her care and love for the children in the
program. We wish Linda the best in her
retirement and her new beginnings. If there is
anyone in the community who is interested in
taking over the program in September 2015,
please provide a resume and references to
St. Marguerite School within the next three
weeks. Thank you again to Linda!

Saturday, May 9th, from 11-3pm. This is a
non-profit event, as it was last year . . . but
with a few changes. This will provide an
opportunity for the St. Marguerite School
community to spend time socializing with
other families and friends. Some of the
activities include; bouncy castle, velcro wall,
pet rescue, fish pond, ring toss, bean bag
toss, lollipop tree, face painting, temporary
tattoos, cake walk, toy bingo, chocolate and
gift card tombola, concession, bbq and
much more! If you can help with a donation
or spare a an hour or two, please contact:

of times and duties needed. Thank You
We Are Silent
The Grade 6/7 class took part in
Free the Children’s, “We Are
Silent” campaign. On April 15th,
for the entire school day, we were
silent! Through our silence, we raised
awareness about issues affecting
children, such as child labor, bullying
and equal education rights for girls. We
collected $202 in pledges! All money
raised will go towards the Free the
Children organization to support these
important issues. Thank you for all
your support!
Dear Parents/Guardians
We need your help! We are planning our
annual Track and Field Meet for Thursday,
May 14, 2015. We need a number of parent
volunteers (no experience required!) to assist
our teachers who are assigned a variety of
track and field events. If you could help out
for the day, the morning, the afternoon, or
even for an hour – please call me @
306-659-7382. Many hands lighten the load.
Thanks. Sincerely, Michael Schneider

Help us name and dedicate our
new Catholic schools!
Our division is scheduled to open six new
Catholic schools in fall 2017. They will be built in
Martensville, Warman and in Saskatoon in the
neighbourhoods of Evergreen, Hampton Village,
Rosewood and Stonebridge. In our tradition at
Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools, our schools
have both a name and a dedication.
School Names - A school name is typically
identifiably Catholic and, if it is a person’s name,
it is someone who has completed their journey
here in this world. Please let us know if you
have names in mind for these new schools.
Send us an email with: Your Name, Your
Suggestion(s), and Reasons for your
suggestion(s).
For the Saskatoon schools: Please send your
suggestion(s) to [email protected]
If you live in one of the neighbourhoods getting
a school please let us know which one.
For Martensville and Warman: Please email
your suggestion(s) to either
[email protected] or
[email protected] and again, let us
know if you live in one of these communities. If
you would like your suggestion(s) considered
for all of the schools, please indicate that.
Dedications -We will also dedicate each of our
new schools to a person who has made a
significant contribution to the community the
school serves. Do you know someone who
deserves this honour? Please include your
name, community and suggestion, as well as
some brief background about the person you
are nominating. Make your name/dedication
suggestions before May 22, 2015. The final
choices will be announced by Fall 2015. (Six
separate committees comprised of people from
each neighbourhood/community and the school
division will submit a shortlist of names to the
Board of Education for its decision.
