As Premier of Tasmania and the Minister for

Blooming Tasmania guide.
Tasmania has a rich gardening culture spanning
generations. You’ll likely meet many of the
passionate people who create these garden
experiences throughout your travels. Their
knowledge and commitment to the landscape
has created a wide variety of garden products
from heritage gardens in historic sites to wild
native garden walks.
We’re very lucky to experience four distinct
seasons here in Tasmania, which provide for an ever-changing garden
landscape. From the North West corner to the far South there is a diverse
collection of gardens attractions, events and nurseries to seek out
and enjoy throughout the year. This guide contains a wealth of helpful
information to aid you in your exploration of our island state and to create
your own Tasmanian garden experience.

Tasmanian Botanical Gardens to smaller family
operated gems in all corners of our island State.
Events like our flower shows demonstrate the
quality of what is lovingly grown in individual
gardens, whilst others, like the Tulip Festival at
Table Cape Tulip Farm runs for several weeks and delivers a kaleidoscope
of colour on a grand scale. Go plant hunting around some very different
specialist growers and explore Tasmania’s unique flora and rare plants,
slow down and stay in relaxing garden accommodation and watch the
sunrise and sunset with the native birds and animals. Whatever you
choose, Blooming Tasmania can assist you in planning a memorable

Peak Flowering Times in Tasmania
To assist you in planning your visit, we have charted the Peak Flowering
Times of some notable flowers. While Tasmania is a small state, climate
and geographic variations do occur, influencing blooming times. Generally
allow two weeks variation between the north (earlier) and the south
(later) of the state, and a similar variation for coastal (earlier) or inland
(later) areas. Some variation must be expected between seasons.

Annsleigh Gardens and Cafe

Brickendon
These beautiful World Heritage listed gardens reflect the foresight of
early settlers with 180 year old exotic and European trees, extensive
plantings of shrubs, roses, perennials and grasses, highlighting the
