Two number of meetings organised in the BMC conference hall, in the second meeting honourable Mayor actively participated and reviewed door to door collection of garbage, drains desiltation and street sweeping in various wards of BMC. These small groups are formed with a token membership of 11 to 15 representatives. These organisations are monitored through City Health Society. A token amount of Rs. 5000/- is allowed each groups which would be utilised for various health issues of the community members. Better Accommodation for City Makers Workshop on Slum Rehabilitation Increase of slums in cities has become an obstacle in the urbanisation planning. The H & UD Department has conducted one workshop on “Slum Rehabilitation and Redevelopment with Analysis of Survey Data”. Resource persons from H &U Department, Department of Statistics, Government of India, Tata Steel Rural Development Foundation, CLTC Cell of BMC and SBA Cell participated and shared views on slum rehabilitation. Smart City Drive.. Multilevel Parking in Market Place As Bhubaneswar will be a smart city, smart solution is a first step towards solving the problem. An innovative initiative for the better parking facility in the city of Bhubaneswar is envisaged. BMC is going to bring Computerized Automated Multi-level parking facility soon to solve the problem faced by the citizens. This will reduce the unauthorized parking problem as well as parking chaos during peak hours. A meeting for this was organized in the conference hall of BMC for seeking opportunities for construction of multi-level parking in Bhubaneswar. The parking system will be made through PPP mode, where users have to give parking fee on nominal basis. In few space a lot of cars can be parked in a parking place which will save space of the city. Also the automatic system will save time and give solution for traffic problem. june-2015 May-2015 Disaster Management Plan Capacity building for Urban Community Community is the first responder to any disaster, the first 72 hrs is very much vital. If disaster is responded and managed properly, no causalities will happen to the citizens. So making the community resilient through building its capacity, is the prime responsibility and concern of government. Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation with the support of Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA) and UNDP through NGOs like SUPPORT and RISE has started to capacitate the urban community of Bhubaneswar City for disaster management. Different activities were undertaken like generating awareness through meeting and orientation, forming various disaster management teams and training them in disaster survival skills, constituting ward disaster management committee and preparing ward disaster management plans by BMC to enhance the resilience capacity of urban dwellers in Bhubaneswar city. The process has already been initiated in different wards of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation. Hon'able Mayor and concerned Corporators participated in the programmes. Corporators of the concerned slums have fully cooperated in organizing all such june-2015 May-2015 You are Asset for us Senior Citizen Meeting in BMC “Senior Citizens are like assets for us”, Honourable Mayor of BMC said in a meeting where more than one hundred senior citizens attended with a lot of problems as well as solutions in their hand. For the first time BMC invited senior citizens from each and every ward to attend a grievances reddressal meeting which was organised in the BMC conference Hall. Ho'nable Mayor along with Corporators and BMC Officers listened to the complaints of citizens very seriously. Senior Citizens representing from various wards gave their valuable suggestions. They also suggested for organizing such meetings in local level for better solution of grievances. Ready to go to Your Doors...
