AGISTMENT
Seasonal or year round for all ages. Safe fencing for both
colts and fillies, we specialise in the growing out of young
horses. Well managed paddocks provide year round
accommodation where your brood mare can thrive.
Short-term agistment also welcome.
WEANING
All services are provided with branding, vaccination’s,
DNA testing, micro chipping, plus 2-3 weeks of
intensive handling of foals then separation and drying
off mares.
YEARLING PREP
SPELLING
Close to both Cranbourne & Mornington training facilities,
plus just an hour from the city training centres, our caring
environment rejuvenates the racing horse. Plus you or your
trainer can visit at any time to check on progress.
This is 8 weeks of individual preparation followed
by a first class presentation at all Melbourne sales,
with experienced handlers to help sell your yearling.
Pre sales promotion and Sirecam listings, x-rays and
scoping on request.
TRANSPORT
MIXED SALES
Being on the Mornington Peninsula we can provide
transport to the main training facilities at Mornington
and Cranbourne, plus to the many Pre-training facilities
available in the area.
BREEDING
Call us to discuss your breeding requirements. We can
help tailor your requirements to any one of our Stallions
or another stallion of your choice. Walk-on’s from the farm
can be arranged to outside Stallions.
FOALING
We provide foaling services to any mare regardless of
your breeding requirements. 24-7 care is provided by
experienced staff with Veterinarian services but a phone
call away.
We attend most Melbourne Sales and can present
your horse looking its best on the day.
BREAKING IN
One of the most important steps in the formation
of a race horse. We provide 4-6 weeks of quiet work
resulting in a soft, well balanced forward moving horse
ready for pre training when the time is right.
MARE LEASE
At times we have broodmares available for yearly
lease at no cost. If you would like more information
on mares available please register your interest
at our Stud Office.

WARHORSE FOR
BOMBORA DOWNS
Bombora Downs is proud to announce this season’s stallion
line-up will include the very exciting Group 1-winning NZ
Champion 2YO of 2011-12, Warhorse.
This good-looking son of the brilliant General Nediym
performed at Group level from two to five years, won from
1200m to1400m, and was Group 1-placed at 1600m.
General Nediym, the champion sprinter of his generation,
was outstanding at stud before his untimely death—his
strike rate of 73 per cent winners-to-runners puts him in
the elite class.
Warhorse won the 2012 Group 1 Haunui Farm Diamond
Stakes (2YOs, 1200m) at Ellerslie. Earlier he won the Group
3 Eclipse Stakes over the same course and distance.
The colt trained on at three to win the Listed Bonecrusher
Stakes (1400m, Ellerslie) before finishing a game third
behind dual Doncaster Handicap winner Sacred Falls in
the 2012 Group 1 New Zealand 2000 Guineas (1600m) at
Riccarton when he challenged three wide on the turn and
was beaten only a head and a neck.
Warhorse is the only Group 1-winning son of General
Nediym at stud and he not only offers breeders an outcross
pedigree that is a perfect to match with Danehill line
mares, but also he is a ideal fit for Victoria’s Super VOBIS
bonus scheme.
His dam line is Danehill free and proven to cross with
the Danehill line, he is also the only Gr1 winning son of
General Nediym to stand at stud.
Warhorse, who is near black and stands 15.3 1/2 hands, is
correct and retired sound.
Standing with Warhorse are four stallions who offer
breeders variety and value.
Jungle Ruler (by Lion Hunter) is entering his third season
at stud and has enjoyed the support of local breeders
wishing to access that fierce determination the handsome
grey was known for. He’s a strong, neat stallion who retired
sound after 20 wins, 12 seconds and 12 thirds. His foals—
eight out of 10 are grey—have his physique and the same
determined manner about them.
Therock’s (by Fastnet Rock) oldest progeny are only two,
and the next 12 months will give an insight to the future of
this young stallion. Therock is producing powerfully built
youngsters who look the part and we are excited by the
prospect of what they will do on the track as they mature.
Annenkov (by Danehill) is represented by three-year-olds
this season and we look forward to his offspring being
tested over longer distances. Annenkov, a Group 2 winner,
comes from a famous European family littered with Group
winners who excel over all distances. Annenkov wasn’t
expected to get early runners and we are confident the
winners will flow in time.
Bombora Downs’ stalwart stallion, Lago Delight (Encosta
De Lago), completes the stallion roster for season 2015.
This consistent and versatile stallion gets winners week
in, week out from 1200m to 2400m in any conditions,
including synthetic tracks. Trainers love the Lago Delights
because they are tough sound horses with a great will to
win.
