Each of these sessions is personally developed by Anita and will run for approximately 3 hours in the mornings when you will bright and ready to engage. There is also an amazing one to one session where you will be able to delve deeper into your personal writing challenges and find solutions with Anita. Day ONE Meet & Greet Meet-and-greet – today being the first day of your exciting travel and writing experience with Anita, you will have an opportunity to meet both Anita and the other writers you’ll be sharing the writing sessions with. Fellow writers with as much passion about writing as yourself! Day TWO Session One Defining your story – writing your synopsis is the first step in any book writing process. Once you have nailed your story synopsis then the writing will be much easier. In this session you will refine your synopsis, then your 300 word abstract and your elevator pitch. Day THREE Session Two Writing an authentic human experience – this session aims to get the creative juices flowing while learning the importance of focusing on your senses and emotions in all your writing. We will make use of the physical environment to tap into what your characters (and what your readers) will see, taste, touch, hear and smell. Day FOUR Book signing in London Session Three Creating believable characters and the role of the ‘method writer’ – this session will consider what readers are looking for in characters and how you can create those you would like to hang out with in real life, those you can empathise with, and those you may want to kill! Putting yourself in the mind of the character is essential for authentic writing. Day FIVE Session Four Writing about place – how to create settings your readers feel like they¹ve visited through your story and ones that will inspire them to travel to! Day SIX Session Five Plotting your story – most writers are pansters (they fly by the seat of their pants when writing) but this workshop will show you how plotting aids the creative process as well as getting your story finished! You can still be organic in your storytelling and meet your deadlines. Day SEVEN Session Six Why you need other people in your writing process – Many writers talk about the process as a lonely one, but this session shows how all writers need to engage with other people in terms of their research – conducting interviews, reading widely, and seeking feedback on drafts from ‘relevant’ bodies. Day EIGHT Session Seven The writers tool kit – agents, publishers, building your brand as a writer and the importance of social media.
