2015 USATF MONTANA Association Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships Friday-Saturday, June 12-13, 2015 Montana State University, Bozeman, Montana AGE DIVISIONS & ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Age Divisions 8 & under (born 2007 +) 9 - 10 (born 2005-2006) 11 - 12 (born 2003-2004) 13 - 14 (born 2001-2002) 15 - 16 (born 1999-2000) 17 - 18 (born 1997-1998) * athletes born in 1996 are also eligible if they do not turn 19 on or before 8/2/2015 Individuals: Only U.S. citizens, aliens living in the United States and foreign exchange students are eligible to compete in these Championships. See the USATF Rules for more information and exceptions. A competitor must compete in his/her age division only. There will be no "moving up" in any events, including relays. Competitors in the 8 & Under, 9 - 10 and 11 - 12 age divisions may compete in a maximum of three (3) events, including relays. Competitors in the 13 - 14, 15 - 16 and 17 - 18 age divisions may compete in a maximum of four (4) events, including relays. Combined events are not included in the event count. All athletes must be 2015 members of USATF in good standing. Relay Teams: Only registered 2015 USATF member clubs may enter a relay team(s). All athletes representing the club must be affiliated with and members of that club as part of their USATF membership. Visit www.usatf.org/membership to find sanctioned clubs in your area. ENTRY PROCESS: Individual Entries: $6 per event, Relay Entries: $ 24 per relay team, Decathlon/Heptathlon: $14 per athlete, and Triathlon/Pentathlon: $10 per athlete Club Administrators and Unattached Athletes should register online at www.coacho.com by Monday, June 8, 2015 at 12:30 PM (MST). Late entries will not be allowed. Online registration opens Sunday, April 26, 2015. Fees must be paid online by the close of registration. Accuracy of data entered is the responsibility of each club and/or athlete. Please validate data within Coach O for accuracy prior to submitting entry. JUNIOR OLYMPIC AWARDS: USATF Junior Olympic medals 1st through 5th place, participant ribbons and T-shirts available. All participants in the Association championships, regardless of their finish may advance to the Region 11 Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships at Utah Valley University in Orem, UT on June 25-27, 2015. NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS: The top five in each event at the Region 11 Junior Olympic track & field championships will advance to the USATF Junior Olympic Nationals held at University of North Florida, Hodges Stadium, Jacksonville, FL on July 27 – August 2, 2015. Multi-Event athletes who place third must meet the standards listed in the national meet packet to advance to the Junior Olympic National Meet. Valid 2015 USATF Membership and Proof of Birth is required for participation. A valid 2015 USATF Membership ($20) www.usatf.org/membership and Proof of Birth is required for participation. Before registration, please ensure that for new members that the membership chair has received (via mail or fax) a copy of the athlete’s Proof of Birth (copy of birth certificate, passport, certified baptismal record, driver’s license or U.S. government identification). WAIVER: All athletes who participate in the USATF Junior Olympic Program must complete the Junior Olympic Participant Waiver and Release form. This form is already integrated in the online entry system and can be completed electronically; it can also be obtained via your association. All forms must be submitted at the first round of the Junior Olympic series. SCHEDULE: Visit www.bozemantrackclub.org for general information, rules and schedule of events. IMPLEMENT WEIGH-IN: Implements will only be checked and weighed from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM on Saturday morning, June 13, 2015, except for the hammer which will be inspected 30 minutes prior to the start of the hammer throw on Friday afternoon. POLE VAULT: Pole vault competitors will be required to provide a POLE VAULT COMPETITORS’ EVENT VERIFICATION FORM prior to the start of competition. The meet rules committee and/or head field event judge reserves the right to not a allow a competitor to compete in the pole vault if it is deemed that it is unsafe or injurious to the athlete, other competitors in the event, or the venue in general. EVENT CHECK-IN: There will be separate check-in areas for Running and Field events. Athletes must check in at these designated areas 45 minutes prior to the event's scheduled starting time. All athletes will be required to remain in the designated warm-up areas after checking in. COMPETITION BIB NUMBERS: All competitors must wear their assigned bib numbers during competition and on the front on their jerseys only. If an athlete loses the bib number, contact the athlete check-in tent located at the finish line shed. Bib numbers will be distributed to athletes during packet pick-up on Friday evening and Saturday morning at the MSU track venue. EVENT RESULTS: During competition, event results will be posted at the finish line shed at the south end of stadium bleachers. In addition, event results will be posted at www.bozemantrackclub.org. PROTESTS: There will be a $50 fee for all protests. Protests must be submitted to the Protest Referee at once and not later than 30 minutes after a result has been announced. The protest fee will be refunded if the protest is upheld. RULES – CONDUCT & FACILITY: USA Track & Field Competition Rules will govern. Coaches and parents are responsible for the conduct of their athletes. Failure to maintain proper control or display good sportsmanship may result in the removal of a team or individual from further competition, or the expulsion of a coach, parent, or spectator. Once the meet begins, only competing athletes and working officials will be allowed on the track or infield, except in the case of medical emergencies. DRUG TESTING: Athletes who participate in this competition may be subject to formal drug testing in accordance with USATF and IAAF rules, in accordance with USOC, USADA, or IAAF procedures. Athletes found, after a disciplinary hearing, to be positive for prohibited substances, as defined by the WADA Code and/or IAAF, or who refuse to be tested, will be disqualified from this event and may lose eligibility for future competitions. Any prize money payable to an athlete who has tested positive shall be withheld until the final disposition of all disciplinary proceedings. BEWARE: Some prescriptions, over the counter medications, and nutritional supplements may contain prohibited substances. Do not use the main entrance to the football stadium on Kagy Boulevard as it will be closed.
