BLACK ROCK MINISTRIES PRAY FOR OUR COMMUNITY: GLOBAL MISSIONS: Pray that Black Rock attendees and members will continue inviting family, friends, neighbors or co-workers who need to know that God loves them and has an awesome plan for their lives. Pray also that the many guests who attended our Easter services will return in future weeks and make a lasting commitment to follow Jesus. Emil and Sarah H. – Pray for creativity in the Global Church Planting Network’s video production. Also pray that Emil and Sarah will effectively support ministry partners and teammates with projects as they travel throughout Spain and North Africa. Lastly, pray for Emil as he assists at the MBBS training center. ADULT MINISTRY: Pray that many at Black Rock will connect in meaningful relationships and grow spiritually. Expressly pray as we focus on identifying and equipping key volunteer leaders and teams that are so critical to the growth of our church. CARE MINISTRY: Pray for our Care Shepherds as they serve those who are ill, isolated or otherwise in need within the Black Rock Church family. Pray also for clear direction as the Care Leadership Team (Deacons/Deaconesses) considers initiatives to better serve our church and the greater community. Finally, pray for those who are attending Grieving with Hope, a 13-week grief management seminar. KIDS MINISTRY: Continue praying for our Kids Ministry staff and volunteers as they share God’s love with children through service and teaching. Also pray for the effective utilization of our new facility, along with the staffing and programming details involved in caring well for each child. STAFF PERSON OF THE WEEK: Harold Munson – Preschool Area STUDENT MINISTRY: Pray for our Student Ministry staff and volunteers as they seek to model Christ’s character in their lives to our youth and influence students to form lifelong commitments to the Savior. Pray also for spiritual transformation in the growing number of students coming to Black Rock each week. Ask God to guard hearts and minds as students encounter issues that challenge their faith. Finally, pray for spiritual awakening among educators and students in area middle and high schools. WORSHIP MINISTRY: Continue praying for our Worship Ministry teams as they seek to glorify God through music and message each week. Expressly pray for the effective use of our Worship Center as a tool to creatively communicate the Gospel to our church family and guests. Also pray for the members of our technical team as they oversee the media and sound areas that are so essential to our message. Finally, pray that the powerful Gospel message delivered through music will continue to influence the hearts of those who need to receive Jesus as Savior. Tim and Natasha Hoffman – Pray for revival in the Cape Town valley where they live. Pray also for cross-cultural relationships to develop in a culturally divided city. Finally, pray that middle and upper class South Africans will choose to impact the lives of those who are marginalized in the society. Steve and Kitty H. – Pray that the team on which they serve will unite around their common calling and for Steve’s wisdom as Director of Field Offices worldwide. Also pray that Kitty will persevere in her linguistic studies and for success in building relationships with international students of Muslim background in the linguistics department where she studies. Finally, pray for the development of an effective model for training language learning advisors to equip field workers. Fayek and Nancy K. – Pray for safety and the local economy. Pray also that the country's president will make good decisions that protect citizens from violence. Pray for Fayek's health and effective planning for Danny’s (grade 10) and Katie’s (grade 5) future. Lastly, pray that Nancy will have opportunities to use her creative abilities at work. Fairfield University InterVarsity – Pray for the staff member candidate and his transition to the Fairfield campus. Pray also that strongholds against sharing the Gospel on campus will be broken. Lastly pray that Christian students will be called to study at FU and to reach others for Christ. International Justice Mission – Pray for the process of training global church and community leaders, along with government officials, to effectively address violence in their communities. Pray also that God will enable IJM staff members to persist as they seek community transformation and justice in the face of corruption, indifference and opposition. Lastly, pray that directors and their families in the African offices will adjust to significant changes as they connect with new staff and community leaders. Karl and Kristen N. Karl serves as Director of the Bandung Alliance Intercultural School – a faith-based international school in Indonesia. The school caters to students both from local business families and those in the international community. th th th Kristen teaches 7 , 10 and 11 grade literature and language arts. Pray for favor with local and federal governments along with faithfulness in leading a team that represents Christ. Lastly, pray for the family's transition into a new community and culture.
