BLACK ROCK MINISTRIES PRAY FOR OUR COMMUNITY: GLOBAL MISSIONS: Pray that Black Rock attendees and members will continue inviting family, friends, neighbors or co-workers who need to know that God loves them and has an awesome plan for their lives. Pray also that many will come to Jesus during the Easter season. Dan and Krista Brown – Pray that Palimi-U Christians will be deliberate, strong witnesses to their non-believing neighbors and relatives. Pray also that church leaders will have godly wisdom as they confront problems within the body of believers and face challenges from the Yanomami community at large. ADULT MINISTRY: Jon and Valerie Brown – Pray for their family as they spend the next few months on stateside assignment in Fairfield. Also pray that, upon their return to Brazil, they can become more directly and regularly involved in the development of infrastructure within the village of Budu-U, so that a lasting missionary presence may be established there until they have a self-sufficient church. Pray that many at Black Rock will connect in meaningful relationships and grow spiritually through our Community Groups, Ownership steps and Starting Point classes during the winter term. CARE MINISTRY: Pray for our Care Shepherds as they serve those who are ill, isolated or otherwise in need within the Black Rock Church family. Pray also for clear direction as the Care Leadership Team (Deacons/Deaconesses) considers initiatives to better serve our church and the greater community. Finally, pray for those who are attending Grieving with Hope, a 13-week grief management seminar. KIDS MINISTRY: Continue praying for our Kids Ministry staff and volunteers as they share God’s love with children through service and teaching. Also pray for the effective utilization of our new facility, along with the staffing and programming details involved in caring well for each child. Expressly pray for the effective use of our Worship Center as a tool to creatively communicate the Gospel to our church family and guests. Also pray for the members of our technical team as they oversee the media and sound areas that are so essential to our message. Finally, pray as preparations are underway for Holy Week and Easter Sunday. Ask God to empower the message and the music so that the lives of our guests are changed. Pat Butler – Pray for focus as Pat writes a book on the spiritual formation of artists. Pray also as the leadership team brainstorms ways to prioritize spiritual development among their artists in the coming year. Finally, pray for God’s direction as she prepares for retirement in a few years. Gary and Kris Caffo – Pray for the protection and safety of their field personnel who occupy sensitive areas of Eurasia. Pray also for the digital publishing initiative aimed at bringing many new Bible verses online so that they are available to local language communities. Brad and Kristen C. – Pray that God will grant wisdom to Brad in his North African leadership role. Also pray for wisdom about the most effective ways to engage North African immigrants who live in their community. Finally, pray that the family will achieve functional use of the Spanish language so that they may collaborate with existing churches in reaching immigrants. Jack and Judith Carpenter – Pray for God's leading as they serve unaccompanied, homeless minors in their community and other Maine neighborhoods wishing to develop a faith-based project such as KITS. Pray also for the young men with whom Jack works as they fight addiction and seek recovery with God's powerful help. Lastly, pray that the Gospel will transform Springfield, MA as the Carpenters work with inner-city kids and leaders. Missionary of the Week – Autumn McGuyer In November, Autumn and her team members began a pioneering work in Nosy Mitsio, a small island off the coast of Madagascar. The team is currently learning the culture and language of the Antakarana people. Pray for effective acquisition of the language. Also pray that Autumn will develop strong friendships with those in her village. Finally, pray that God will open hearts and minds to the Gospel.
