Heathy Connections Now Provides Adult Dental Benefits
Dental health is a key part of improving and maintaining your health. The health of
your teeth and gums can affect the health of the rest of your body. Healthy
Connections now covers preventive dental services, up to $750 per fiscal year.
The new services offered include:
An annual cleaning
Oral exams
X-rays
Extractions
Fillings
These new services are available to members age 21 and older who have full
Healthy Connections Medicaid benefits. There is a $3.40 copayment for adult
members toward the cost of preventive care. The new benefit does not cover
crowns, root canals, periodontal scaling and root planing, teeth whitening or
dentures.
Members may locate a participating dental provider by visiting the Dentaquest

Disability Advocacy Day
Disability Advocacy Day is March 4, 2015
at the South Carolina StatehouseColumbia, SC.
YOU can make a difference. Let your
voice be heard by attending Disability
Advocacy Day. Individuals in South
Carolina with disabilities, their family
members and service providers will
meet with legislators at the state house
where self advocates will speak about
current disability issues that are of
great concern to them. They will gather
to see the S.C. General Assembly at
work and personally urge their
representatives and senators to take
whatever measures are necessary to
continue essential services for children
and adults with disabilities.

Hopes and Dreams Conference
Family Connection of SC is hosting its annual Hopes & Dreams Conference
on March 6th and 7th, 2015. This annual two-day conference is for parents of
children with special needs and professionals who care for them. It is an opportunity to explore the issues and challenges that families face in
caring for children with developmental disabilities, chronic illnesses and longterm health needs. There are workshops covering a wide range of issues
including behavior, care & treatment, education, family care, finances and
more.
