Our Mission
The Core of What We Do
Additional IL Services
disABILITY LINK is an
organization led by and for
people with disabilities and
promotes full participation
in community life.
All Centers for Independent
Living offer five core services,
these are the essential services
to increase independence and
community engagement.
We offer additional services that
depend on partnerships with
the community and fund
availability.
Peer Led
We are unique because we
are an organization that is
comprised of people with
disabilities. We are
required to have 51% of
our staff and board be
people with disabilities.
Over 90% of our staff are
people with disabilities.
Cross Disability
disABILITY LINK is also an
organization that works
with people of all disability
backgrounds. We work to
tackle barriers that impact
people with disabilities
from all experiences. We
want to empower people to
enhance their lives as well
as the community.
Independent Living Skills
Whether it’s designing a
budget, learning to use mass
transit or personal safety, we
offer individualized training that
enhances a person’s
independence.
Advocacy
It is important to make your
voice heard and create the
change you want to see, we
offer services for personal and
systems advocacy.
Transition
We support people to live in the
communities of their choosing,
whether it’s moving from an
institution, or your parent’s
house.
Peer Support
The support of a peer is both
powerful and meaningful, we
incorporate peer support in all
of our services.
Information and Referrals
We maintain a database of local
resources that range from
housing to legal assistance.
