Facilities fit for 21st century
steel logistics
The facilities at Distriport are quite extraordinary. In fact, it’s the
only terminal in the Port of Rotterdam that offers year-round,
all-weather stevedoring for steel and metals, which removes the
risk of climate damage to cargo. Its efficient overhead crane system
facilitates high productivity figures and fast reloading onto truck,
rail or barge, while our Warehouse Management System eliminates
the need for sorting. Moreover, the terminal is connected directly
to a humidity-controlled warehouse, offering cargo additional
protection from rust and discolouration. Our special equipment
is the reason we have the lowest damage rate in the
Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp region.

9,500 DWT simultaneously
2. Four overhead cranes that can each lift coils, sheets
and plates up to 42.5 tons.
3. Deep-sea quay for vessels up to 50,000 DWT or 12,65 m draught
4. Shore cranes and mobile cranes that can lift 75 tons
and 104 tons respectively
5. Warehousing facilities (245,000 m2)
6. Humidity-controlled warehouse of 13,500 m2

Going greener
Broekman is ISO 14001-certified. This certification is part of a drive
to reduce our carbon footprint and achieve operational savings
through efficiencies. In other words, it helps us remain commercially
successful without overlooking our environmental responsibilities.
