Sew one 2 ½” x 40 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of the 23 ½” x 40 ½” Fabric A panel. Sew one 2 ½” x 27 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and bottom of the panel. Trim the Fabric B strip even with the top and bottom of the panel. Trim to measure 25 ½” x 42 ½” to make the center panel. Sew one 3" x 42 ½” Fabric H strip to each side of the center panel. Sew one 3 ½” x 30 ½” Fabric H strip to the top and bottom of the center panel. Place one 2” Fabric C square on the left side of one 2” x 3 ½” Fabric I strip, right sides together (Fig. 1). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 1). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 2). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance. Place another 2” Fabric C square on the right side of the 2” x 3 ½” Fabric I strip, right sides together (Fig. 3). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (Fig. 3). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 4). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance. This completes one C/IC unit. Repeat Steps 3-4 to make fifty-six (128) C/I/C units total. Sew one C/I/C unit to each side of one 3 ½” Fabric E square to make the middle row. Sew one 2” Fabric I square to each end of one C/I/C unit to make one top row. Repeat to make the bottom row. Sew the rows together to make one Block One Square (Fig. 5). Repeat to make five (10) Block One Squares total. Repeat Step 6 using twenty (48) C/I/C units, twenty (48) 2” Fabric I squares and five (12) 3 ½” Fabric F squares to make five (12) Block Two Squares total (Fig. 6). Repeat Step 6 using sixteen (40) C/I/C units, sixteen (40) 2” Fabric I squares and four (10) 3 ½” Fabric G squares to make four (10) Block Three Squares total (Fig. 7). Sew one 2 ½” x WOF Fabric D strip to each side of one 2 ½” x WOF Fabric B strip to make one D/B/D strip. Repeat to make three (6) D/B/D strips total. Sub-cut the strips into ten (24) 6 ½” D/B/D squares four (8) 6 ½” x 9 ½” D/B/D strips (Fig. 8). (For TWIN size, skip to Step 19 on Page 5) and Throw Quilt Assembly (refer to the throw quilt layout while assembling the quilt top) 11. Sew two 6 ½” D/B/D squares, one Block One square, one Block Two, one Block Three and two 6 ½” x 9 ½” D/B/D strips together to make one side border. Repeat to make the opposite side border. Sew the borders to the center panel. 12. Sew two Block Ones, one Block Two, one Block Three and three 6 ½” D/B/D squares together to the make the top border. Sew the border to the center panel. 13. Sew two Block Twos, one Block One, one Block Three and three 6 ½” D/B/D squares together to make the bottom border. Sew the border to the center panel. 14. Sew one 2 ½” x 60 ½” Fabric H strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew one 2 ½” x 46 ½” Fabric H strip to the top and bottom of the quilt top. 15. Sew 1 ½” x 64 ½” Fabric C strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew one 1 ½” x 48 ½” Fabric C strip to the top and bottom of the quilt top. 16. Layer and quilt as desired. 17. Sew the six 2 ½ x WOF Fabric C strips together, end to end with 45° seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half, lengthwise with wrong sides together, and press. 18. Bind as desired. Sew two 6 ½” D/B/D squares, one Block One square, one Block Two, one Block Three and two 6 ½” x 9 ½” D/B/D strips together to make one side border. Repeat to make the opposite side border. Sew four 6 ½” D/B/D squares, two Block Ones, one Block Two and Two Block Threes together to make the bottom row. Sew the row to the bottom of the quilt top. 25. Sew one 3 ½” x 72 ½” Fabric H strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew one 3 ½” x 60 ½” Fabric H strip to the top and bottom of the quilt top. 26. Sew 2 ½” x 78 ½” Fabric C strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew one 2 ½” x 64 ½” Fabric C strip to the top and bottom of the quilt top. 27. Layer and quilt as desired. 28. Sew the eight 2 ½ x WOF Fabric C strips together, end to end with 45° seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half, lengthwise with wrong sides together, and press. 29. Bind as desired.
